This film was a huge hit and received high praise from all quarters, and to commemorate the 10th anniversary of its release, a revival screening entitled “Expelled from Paradise – Impelled by 10th Anniversary-” has been scheduled.

“Expelled from Paradise” is a first-class entertainment that combines a grand sci-fi vision with spectacular action. “Expelled from Paradise” is directed by Seiji Mizushima of “Mobile Suit Gundam 00”. The screenplay is by Gen Urobuchi (Nitroplus) of “Puella Magi Madoka Magica”. This work, which is a direct collaboration between two top creators, is the first original theatrical work for both of them, and after its release in November 2014, it received high praise from all quarters and became a huge hit.
The story begins when the cyber world of Diva, a haven for humanity, is mysteriously hacked. What is the purpose of the hack? Investigator Anjula descends to the desolate earth accompanied by the mobile exoskeleton Arhan. The grand-scale vision of the future born from Urobuchi’s imagination has been visualized with overwhelming skill by director Mizushima and his team. The cutting-edge visual world is here, including the presence of the characters drawn in 3DCG. The cast includes Kugimiya Rie, Miki Shinichiro, Kamiya Hiroshi and other talented actors who have supported Mizushima’s works, breathing life into the human-like characters.

The Earth has become a ruin due to nanohazards. Most of humanity has abandoned the surface world and become data and live in the cyber world of Diva. In the year 2400, Diva is exposed to an abnormality. A mysterious hacking from the surface world. The hacker calls himself the Frontier Setter. What is the purpose of the hacking? Diva investigator Angela dons a flesh and blood material body and descends to the surface world. As Angela tries to contact the surface investigator Dingo, she is met by a swarm of Sandworm monsters that roam the surface. Angela
activates her mobile exoskeleton suit, Arhan, to fight them off. The Frontier Setter must be hiding somewhere on the devastated surface. Angela and Dingo’s journey to uncover the mysteries of the world has just begun.
