“My Hero Academia” Kyomafu Ultra Stage held! Yamashita Daiki, Okamoto Nobuhiko, and Kaji Yuki take to the stage to look back on the fierce battles of the 7th season of My Hero AcademiaA stage event for the TV anime “My Hero Academia” will be held at the “Kyoto International Manga and Anime Fair (Kyomaf) 2024” on Saturday, September 21st!

Yamashita Daiki, who plays Midoriya Izuku, Okamoto Nobuhiko, who plays Bakugou Katsuki, and Kaji Yuki, who plays Todoroki Shoto, took the stage and featured a segment looking back on the fierce battles in the currently airing 7th season of My Hero Academia, as well as a segment related to the My Hero Academia movie.

When the three appeared on stage, titled “My Hero Academia Kyomafu Ultra Stage,” they were greeted with thunderous cheers from the fans gathered at the venue.

In a corner looking back on the fierce battles in the 7th season of My Hero Academia, which continues with a furious development, along with memorable stills, Kaji reflected on episode 146, “Two Brilliant Shines.”

Regarding this episode as the one in which Todoroki Shoto and his brother Dabi, also known as Todoroki Touya, played by Shimono Hiro, finally come face to face, he reflected, “Dabi also expresses his true feelings that have been building up up until now, while Shoto has also prepared to respond to that. He responds with all his heart and skill, depicted with expressions that are unique to music and anime, it is an episode that cannot be talked about without tears.”

Okamoto, who plays Bakugou Katsuki, looked back on episode 149, “Light Fades To Rain,” and said that the scene where he shouts “Hauser Impact Cluster” required about 10 takes, “I was suffering from oxygen deprivation, and I don’t even remember recording this episode,” revealing that it was an impassioned performance that was just as impressive as the finished anime.

Furthermore, Bakugou revealed the change in his feelings towards Deku as he acted, saying, “The person who had previously said to him, ‘Can you even get to my level?’ and even said at one point, ‘Do you think you’ve overtaken me?’ is now saying, ‘I wonder if I can still catch up to you.’ This is really painful…”

Looking back on episode 151, “Continuous Frost”, in which Deku’s second “quirk” of the “One for All” ability was activated, Yamashita said, “I was trying to somehow express the sense of control that only Deku, who has mastered the control of his quirk, can have in his acting. ” He also mentioned the driving force behind his energy in acting, saying, “I was conscious of wanting to stop and save Shigaraki (the villain), and turn the anger at Kacchan being defeated into driving force.”

The members themselves said that it was “just a gathering of fans,” and the love for My Hero Academia was overwhelming. When asked by the moderator about future broadcasts, they revealed an episode in which “the voice actors were crying as they came out of the recording booth during the post-recording process,” predicting a heart-wrenching development.

Additionally, the stage will also feature a corner dedicated to My Hero Academia THE MOVIE: YOUR NEXT, which is the biggest hit in the history of the My Hero Academia movie series.

In homage to the popular character Julio, an original character for the movie who is a butler but has a slightly foul mouth that appeals to young ladies, the actor will take on the challenge of “rephrase the lines of the character he is playing as they appear on the screen on stage in a polite manner, like a butler!”

For the first time, Yamashita was asked to choose a line from the first season, “Wow, what a big villain.” Yamashita hesitated, saying “Wow, wow,” but finally managed to squeeze out “Wow, what a big villain.”

The theme for Okamoto was “cool mob.” He matched it with the movie version’s theme and got through it with a smart change of pace, saying “Miyano Mamoru-sama.”

The topic for Kaji was the first season’s line, “The level was too different.” Kaji responded in a sweet butler-like voice, “It seems like there’s a big discrepancy in your level.” Kaji snatched victory with big applause from the “ladies” gathered in the venue. The three tried again and again. Kaji, who received the most applause from the audience, won and received a cup of Japanese black tea as a reward.

The stage, which had been coveted by My Hero Academia fans, was finally drawing to a close with great success. The finale of the show was the usual My Hero Academia stage call of “Further onwards! Plus Ultra!”, which brought the venue together in unison to close the show.

The fierce battle between the three butlers can also be seen in “My Hero Academia Kyomafu Ultra Stage”, which is currently being archived and streamed on the official Yomiuri TV Anime YouTube channel (available until 6:00 p.m. on October 12, 2024).

The comic series has sold over 85 million copies worldwide! The TV anime “My Hero Academia” is based on the hugely popular comic by Kohei Horikoshi, which is currently serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump (published by Shueisha).

The story takes place in a world where about 80% of the population has some kind of supernatural ability, a “quirk.” The story follows the growth, battles, and friendships of high school student Izuku Midoriya “Deku,” who attends U.A. High School, and his classmates as they aim to become heroes, a profession that protects people and society from accidents, disasters, and criminals and enemies who abuse their “quirks”!

In this world, it is normal for people to have supernatural powers known as “quirks.” When a “quirkless” boy named Izuku Midoriya, nicknamed “Deku,” meets his idol, the No. 1 hero, All Might, he is discovered to have the qualities of a hero and inherits his “quirk” One For All (OFA). Deku enrolls in the prestigious U.A. High School, a school that produces many heroes, and aims to become a “hero” who can save society and people with his “quirk,” growing up with his classmates in Class 1-A of the Hero Course.
