“Aniplex Online Fest” is an online festival where you can enjoy the latest information on Aniplex anime and live performances by a lineup of amazing artists, completely free of charge. Broadcast for two consecutive seasons on Fuji TV’s “Noitamina” and other channels from October 2024
The legendary masterpiece “Rurouni Kenshin: Meiji Swordsman Romantic Story” has been loved by people of all ages around the world, with the comic series having sold a total of 72 million copies and the live-action film series having grossed a total of 19.3 billion yen. In 2023, the staff and cast will be renewed as a new TV anime series, with the first season consisting of 24 episodes broadcast in July 2023, and the second season, “Kyoto Disturbance,” broadcasting in October 2024.
The original work by Nobuhiro Watsuki began serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump in 1994, and was first adapted into a TV anime in 1996. Since then, it has been expanded into various productions such as OVAs and feature films, and currently, Rurouni Kenshin: Meiji Swordsman Romantic Story Hokkaido Arc is being serialized in Jump SQ.
For the second season, Yuki Komada (Assistant Director of Blade of the Immortal) was appointed as director in order to depict a more intense battle. Hideyuki Kurata (Made in Abyss) will continue to be in charge of series composition.
