-As a cast member and as a viewer, how do you feel about the story of My Hero Academia season 7 so far?

Nishida: “It’s a series of amazing episodes, so I find myself completely engrossed in the story that I forget to breathe. The animation and sound are fantastic, and I’m blown away by the power of the voice actors’ performances. I once again feel that this is a production made by a fantastic team, and I feel very happy to have been able to take part in it.”

–What were your thoughts when you read the “With Shoji-kun” episode in the original work?

Nishida: “The spotlight was on Shoji-kun and his past was also depicted, which was very interesting for me as a reader, but on the other hand, to be honest, as an actor, I was most worried. Would I be able to act in a way that would make the audience feel comfortable? This is also an episode with a message, so depending on the content of my performance, there is a possibility that I might ruin what Horikoshi-sensei intended. When I read the original work, I thought that it would be a high hurdle for me to overcome when it was made into an anime.”

-How did you feel when you went into the dubbing?

Nishida: “I just wanted to improve the quality even if just a little, so even before there were any plans to record, I would imagine things and try them out loud. I also worked out as much as I could, stayed at the recording site to experience and remember the intensity of the other members’ battles, and did everything I could to try to get to the recording. On the day of recording, with the help of the director and the staff, I was able to be lifted up to where Shoji-kun was.”

— “Together with Shouji-kun.” Please give a message to everyone who is looking forward to the upcoming broadcast of the 7th season of My Hero Academia.

Nishida: “I believe that the many production staff members have made this an episode that will reach people in a direct way. Above all, I am very happy to have been able to work together as a member of the team to create “With Shoji-kun.” I hope that viewers will take the time to watch it carefully to find out what kind of episode it will be. And, there are plenty of plus-ultra episodes coming up, so I hope to continue enjoying the seventh season with everyone.”
