On Saturday, August 3rd, the first live broadcast of the series by co-stars Kobayashi Taiki and Uemura Yuto was held, during which the first promotional video, key visuals, and additional staff and cast members were announced.
Additionally, it has been announced that there will be an ending theme song, a tie-up with the Japan Animal Protection Association, and a “premium advance screening and talk show of episodes 1-3” with seven cast members on stage on Sunday, September 8th.

The story depicts the encounters and changes in the hearts of the characters that occur when Kinokoinu suddenly appears in the garden and starts living with Hotaru. Everyone is drawn to Kinokoinu… This is the key visual that evokes the Kinokoinu Universe.
The people surrounding Kinokoinu and Hotaru, their editor Komako, Yara from the Mushroom Research Institute, and the mysterious plum-colored creature that looks just like Kinokoinu and the Uehara family they met. New characters have appeared, and the PV has been completed, digging deeper into the relationship between Kinokoinu and Hotaru.
She is Hotaru’s childhood friend and an editor at a publishing company. She is a straightforward and capable woman. She always carries scissors in her bag.

A staff member at the nearby Hoshihato Mushroom Research Institute. Her father is the editor-in-chief of Komako’s company. She’s such a big fan of Hotaru that she tends to behave strangely.

I’ve loved this work since it was first serialized, so I’m surprised that it’s now been made into an anime, and I’m even more surprised that I’ll be voicing Yayoshi.
All the characters are lively, and I felt an indescribable happiness while recording. I hope that the anime adaptation will be a catalyst for more people to enjoy it.
I will condense my love for the work into love for Hotaru-sensei through Yayoshi-kun, and do my best in the acting!
A mysterious plum-colored creature with a pattern that looks just like the mushroom dog. What is its true identity?

Who on earth is Plum? I’m so excited to be able to play a character with an unknown identity…!!
There are no lines written for Plum in the script, so she is given free reign to do as she pleases.
During the dubbing, I had fun acting, bursting out in laughter at the unexpected voices that suddenly appeared. Personally, this is the first time I’ve ever laughed so hard during a dubbing session (laughs).

A junior high school student in the neighborhood. They bump into each other at a bookstore, and by chance, they decide to go to Hotaru’s house to hang out. She is an only child and a good cook.

When I first read “Kinokoinu” I felt it was a heartwarming story filled with bonds and love. I am so happy to have had the opportunity to be involved in such a wonderful story!
The dubbing studio was recorded in a warm atmosphere, so I hope that I was able to convey that atmosphere, as well as the kind, reliable side of Uehara Anzu, the character I play, as well as the innocent side she occasionally shows!

ある日、絵本作家の夕闇ほたるは、庭の雪柳の下に、まピンク色のきのこが生えていることに気づく。
彼がぼんやり眺めていると、それは突然動き出す！しっぽをぶんぶん振って犬っぽいのに、でもきのこ？
疑問に思いながらも、この謎の生きもの＜きのこいぬ＞と一緒に暮らすことに。
すると…描いちゃいけないところにお絵かきして、大好きなたこ焼きは常にぜんぶ食べたい。
幼なじみの編集者こまこちゃんやきのこ研究所の矢良くんたちも巻き込んで、気まま放題なのにしれっとフォローもできちゃうきのこいぬとの“笑える”日々がやってくる。
