On July 31st (Wednesday), the Blu-ray and DVD of this work were released, and the “Blu-ray & DVD Release Commemorative Special Screening Stage Greeting” was held at Shinjuku Wald 9, where the star-studded cast appeared on stage. Kamiya Akira, who plays Saeba Ryo, Ichiryusai Shunsui, who plays Nogami Saeko, and Horiuchi Kenyuu, who plays Umihara Kami, took to the stage amidst loud cheers. The official report of the stage greeting has now been released.
In the opening greeting, Kamiya delivered the lines of Ryo Saeba. Following him, Ichiryusai also spoke in the character voice of Saeko Nogami, expressing his joy at being able to come to Shinjuku, the location of the work. Horiuchi also greeted everyone in the character voice of God of the Sea, and the stage greeting began in a friendly atmosphere.
When asked about the character he played, Kamiya described his role as a fun one with a wide range of emotions, saying that this time too he was able to enjoy the role as it had many different twists and turns. He also said that the second half of the story was difficult as the plot developed seriously, but that he was glad he was able to play the role from start to finish.
Horiuchi confessed that when he received the script, the first thing he did was check how many lines Umihara had, and that the role would appear at an important point, making him feel like he was at a critical juncture. He also revealed that the fact that he had few lines meant that he had to convey the character’s life in those few lines made him very nervous.
Kamiya, who said that he recorded after Horiuchi’s and so listened to Umihara’s voice while dubbing, praised Umihara’s voice, saying that it was such an annoying voice, and Horiuchi looked happy to hear his words.
Ichiryusai, like Horiuchi, said he first checked how many lines he had and which characters he would be talking to. He said that what made the biggest impression on him was when he discovered Shimoyamada’s name, and he felt happy to be able to meet him again.
Kamiya then revealed that he was relieved that he wasn’t the one to have to say the long line in which Saeko explains Angel Dust. In the fight scene with Angie, both Horiuchi and Ichiryusai were surprised at how long the scene was, but Kamiya recalled that it was more difficult to maintain the tension of the fight than to keep the length of his voice.
He also praised Miyuki Sawashiro’s performance as Angie, saying that she was more impressed by Sawashiro’s voice recording. He called out to the audience that they should all watch it too.
The conversation turned to the Blu-ray and DVD that were released today.
Kamiya, who visited the factory to sign the limited edition Blu-ray and DVD discs, recalled that he was nervous because he couldn’t make any mistakes when signing in silver marker.
This Blu-ray & DVD BOX features Ryo on the front and Umihara on the back, with the inside pages also featuring Umihara.
Upon seeing the actual product, Horiuchi commented that he felt humbled by the large depiction of the character he played. In addition, the special features included in the package include the script for the film, which is a completed script created specifically for the Blu-ray and DVD that none of the cast or staff had.
And so the stage greeting drew to a close. In his final greeting, Kamiya expressed how happy he was to have been involved in the film for such a long time, having been involved in the campaign for this film for about a year.
At the end, Ryo expressed his gratitude with his signature line, “Thank you so much!”, and the stage greeting came to a close amidst thunderous applause.
