They are now relatives and family. Be aware of the ambiguous and intimate distance between them – Part 2 of the interview series for “Love is Inseparable from Twins”: Sakata Shogo, who plays Shirasaki Jun”Love is Unbreakable by Twins,” currently being published by Dengeki Bunko, is being made into a TV anime! It will start airing on AT-X, TOKYO MX, and other stations from July 10, 2024.

Jun Shirasaki and the Jinguji sisters, Rumi and Naori, are childhood friends who have been together since they were little and have been like family ever since they were little. The relationship between the three of them, who have been interacting without having any specific relationship, changes one day into a twisted love triangle with one word uttered by Rumi.

To commemorate the broadcast, we conducted an email interview with the cast! Following the broadcast of the first episode, we spoke with Shogo Sakata, who plays Jun Shirasaki, about the first episode, which gave us the sense of the beginning of a twisted love triangle, from the first encounter between Jun, Rumi, and Naori.

–The beginning of the first episode depicted Jun, Rumi, and Naori from their first meeting to their elementary school days. What were your thoughts on seeing the relationship between the three at this time? Also, was there anything you were conscious of when playing Jun from his childhood to his high school days?

Sakata Shogo (hereinafter, Sakata), voice of Shirasaki Jun: When I first saw the relationship between the three of them, I thought, I was jealous… I’ve never had a childhood friend, so I was really, like, jealous…

And when I was acting, I was conscious of the distance between us as childhood friends. We’ve known each other since we were young, so we’re family, and there’s a part of us that’s like family, but we’re also of the opposite sex. I was conscious of maintaining an ambiguous, intimate distance.

— In the middle of episode 1, when Rumi confesses her feelings to her middle school days, it’s a sudden turn of events that I think many people were surprised by. What did you think when you saw Rumi desperately trying to cover up her feelings but mustering up all her courage?

Sakata: It’s adorable, brave and cute… The way she desperately tries to hide the fact that she’s so scared of being rejected, even though people think she’s serious, was heartbreaking and so cute.

–How do you think Jun felt when he started dating Rumi?

Sakata: Well, of course he would be happy. Being liked by a girl, being confessed to, is what makes a middle school boy happy. Actually, if I were to explain the details of his feelings, it would be a spoiler, so I’ll keep it a secret.
