Shikanokokonokokoshitantan is a girl-meets-deer story based on the manga currently being serialized in Kodansha’s Magazine Pocket by Oshio Shio. It begins with a girl (a former delinquent) meeting a deer (?). One day, while walking to school, Torako
Toshi, a high school girl attending Tokyo’s Hinominami High School, feels something cold on her face. When she looks up, she sees a girl with a runny nose and a horn stuck in an electric wire, unable to move. Thus, Torako Toshi, who is an honor student (in disguise), begins to have her life thrown into disarray by accidentally helping Kanoko, a girl with a strange horn.
On May 28th, an intro endurance video of the opening theme song “Shikairo Days” was posted on YouTube and X (formerly Twitter), and as of July 1st, it had been viewed 5.91 million times on X’s impressions, and on YouTube it had been viewed over 5.67 million times, causing a huge response.
This video repeats the title of the work, “Shikanokokonokokoshitantan” in the rhythm of cutting guitar and drums. By repeating “Shikanokokonokokoshitantan” more than 1,000 times in an hour, the song becomes an “earworm” that sticks in your head and you can’t get it off, which is how you can effectively remember the title of the work.
In response to this reaction, the audio for the “Shikairo Days” intro endurance video is being distributed on various social media platforms, including TikTok and Instagram, from June 28th. Since it is possible to create and post video content using the audio, it is expected that the excitement will grow even more as the broadcast begins.
