The Fable, a manga written by Minami Katsuhisa, has sold over 25 million copies. It was made into a live-action movie in 2019 and 2021, and the serialization of The Fable: The Second Contact, which began in 2021, has now reached a spectacular conclusion. The TV anime series began airing in April this year. When the TV anime series was announced, it caused a huge stir, instantly becoming the number one trending topic on X (formerly Twitter).
The anime “The Fable” is now entering the “Utsubo Arc”, which is also overwhelmingly popular in the original work. The new cast members who will be voicing the members of the Taihei Credit Agency have been announced. Fujima Hide will play Utsubo Rei
, the biggest enemy in this episode, who is trusted by the local community on the surface, but is overprotected and produces weak young people in large numbers, squeezing money out of their parents. Anzai Chika will play Sawa Hinako, a clerk and secretary at the credit agency who lost hope after a past incident and is forced to live like a doll. Koyasu Takehito will play Suzuki Hiroshi, a veteran assassin with 20 years of experience and Utsubo’s partner who takes on dirty work. Kanemitsu Yoshihiro will play Izaki Tsutomu, a new employee at the credit agency, a former member of the Makuro gang and former brother of Kuroshio.
A new main visual has also been released with the start of the Utsubo arc. Hinako, holding a revolver in one hand, has a sad and somewhat desperate look on her face, with Akira standing next to her in the foreground, while in the background, a masked Akira and the craziest enemy, Utsubo, are in conflict. This visual truly depicts the “drama” of this work, and makes us look forward to the start of a new chapter.
The theme songs will be performed by ALI and Umeda Cipher again. Umeda Cipher will be in charge of the opening and ALI will be in charge of the ending.
Along with the announcement of the song, “Main PV vol.3” using the new song was also released. The opening theme starts off with Akira and Kuroshio’s <Survival Edition>, followed by the long-awaited hot night between Yoko and Kawai Yuuki. The scene of Taihei City unfolds to the fast-paced music, but the video uses the story of <Utsubo Edition> to the cool ending theme. The PV makes you even more excited for future developments.

to recording after it was decided that I would be playing Utsuho.
Utsuho is a man who pretends to be a good person on the surface, but behind the scenes he does really bad things. Just as Utsuho plays the role of a “good person”, I would like to play the role of “the person called Utsuho”. I
will do my best to make it enjoyable for everyone. Thank you very much.
I read the original
manga during the audition. The balance of tension and relaxation was perfect…it was so interesting that I couldn’t stop turning the pages.
I am very happy to be able to participate in this story as Hinako from the Utsuho arc.
At the dubbing studio, various Kansai dialects were spoken depending on the role, such as very powerful Kansai dialect and soft Kansai dialect…Hinako speaks standard Japanese, so I feel nervous when I enter the world of those conversations (laughs).
I will do my best to have fun so that you can enjoy the Utsuho arc of “The Fable” to the fullest in the anime. I

I love film noir-style movies that deal with the dark side of society, such as human malice, discrimination, and violence, so I am very happy to be appearing in this production. I think it will be very difficult to express and will require delicate acting, but I would like to work together with the staff and actors to create it, so please support me. “Hiroshi Suzuki” is a great role, so please watch it!
I am Yoshihiro Kanemitsu, who plays Izaki, and I have recently joined the Utsubo group. I
have been reading the original manga of “The Fable” for a long time, so I never thought I would be involved.
Now that this has happened, I will swim through the dark waters of Taihei City as a professional Kansai resident.
Even so, this character Izaki doesn’t seem like a stranger…
is it his face? Is it his personality? No, maybe both!?
Anyway, the TV anime “The Fable” has entered the second half. The developments from now on will be a must-see!

Ten years ago, when The Fable first began serialization,
I thought, “Minami-sensei is playing a hitman?!”, but I
quickly became hooked and it became something I looked forward to every week.
I am overjoyed that it has now been decided that it will be made into an anime, and that I will also be performing the theme song.
As professionals, we were able to show off our teamwork in this song by passing the microphone
around, which is one of Umeda Cipher’s greatest weapons .
