The original work of “Oshi no Ko” is a hit comic that depicts the entertainment world from a completely new perspective by Akasaka Aka of “Kaguya-sama: Love is War” and Yokoyari Mengo of “Scum’s Wish”. Goro, an obstetrician-gynecologist working in a provincial city, is visited by his “oshi” idol “B Komachi” Ai. This is the trigger for a strange fate to move, and the innovative story, which also includes a mystery element, has been a hot topic since the beginning of the serialization.
The first season of the TV anime will start airing in April 2023. The first episode was produced as a 90-minute extended version, and was screened in theaters in March before the TV broadcast. The second season will air on July 3, 2024, and a new stage will begin.
Characters from “Oshi no Ko” such as Aqua, Ruby, and Arima Kana have been turned into Papabubble candies and star-shaped lollipop candies and are available as part of the “Oshi no Ko Candy Set.” Papabubble has elevated traditional candy crafting techniques to the level of performance, becoming popular as “Craft Candy Theater.”
The “Oshi no Ko Candy Set” is a set of two types of candy that express characters and motifs. The candies are about 1cm in size and feature images of green peppers and Ichigo Productions. The candies that contain baking soda can be enjoyed as “candies that you can lick baking soda in” rather than “genius child actors licking baking soda.”
One random sticker (six types in total) is included, featuring Papabubble candy printed on a character background.
Also on sale are star-shaped lollipops called “Oshi no Ko Lollipops” (3 varieties) that represent the sparkle in the eyes of Ai, Aqua, and Ruby. Ai comes in strawberry flavor, Aqua in white soda, and Ruby in lemon soda flavor, making them the perfect candies for taking photos.
Each candy will be sold in limited quantities nationwide and on the Papabubble official website from June 27th.
