“Hangyodon” is a Sanrio character of a Chinese-born, half-fishman who debuted in 1985. He is also active as a member of “Happy Danby,” a group formed by six unique boys with the meaning of “Boys who want to be happy, aiming for a V-shaped recovery,” and his unique character is popular with young people such as Gen Z. He was ranked 8th overall in the popularity voting event “2024 Sanrio Character Awards,” which is celebrating its 39th anniversary this year.
The new “Hangyodon Cafe ~Happy Holidays~” is based on the concept of “summer holidays” and is a themed cafe where you can enjoy your summer vacation with Hangyodon. The
menu includes Hangyodon’s favorite “hiyashi chuka” (cold Chinese noodles), “Tenshin fried rice” topped with naruto, and “Hangyodon’s naughty rice bowl” with a mix of gyoza and mapo tofu.
In addition, there are plenty of Instagram-worthy items, such as a parfait that evokes the image of relaxing on the beach, desserts like waffles and donuts that evoke the image of playing in the ocean, and drinks inspired by characters and the sea.
In addition, original cafe goods using the newly drawn artwork will be available, including “tin badges,” “acrylic key chains,” “acrylic cards,” “mini drawstring bags,” “two-piece set of big stickers,” “cologne glasses,” and “tote bags.” Special bonuses will also be available.
