“My Wife is a Little Girl” is a fantasy based on the manga by Murata Yaoru, which was serialized in “Weekly Manga TIMES” from 2018 to 2022 and has sold over 3 million copies. A husband who was a devoted husband who lost his beloved wife 10 years ago is confronted by his wife, who has been reborn as a 10-year-old elementary school student. The story depicts the heartwarming revival of a family, in which a husband and daughter who had been living like invalids regain the joy of living thanks to his wife who has become an elementary school student. In 2022, it was made into a TV drama starring Tsutsumi Shinichi, Ishida Yuriko, Makita Aju and others, and it became a hot topic, with people of all ages and genders expressing their emotions.

Along with the announcement of the broadcast information, a teaser video for the “Wife Edition” was released, which begins with the scene of the Niijima wife, who was supposed to have died in an accident, returning home in the form of an elementary school student. The doorbell rings as the Niijima family sits quietly at the dining table, and a girl with folded arms stands at the entrance, saying, “I’m home!” Keisuke, the husband, is confused. The girl then immediately says, “I’m Niijima Takae, your wife! Mai’s mother!”

Keisuke is happy to have Takae (Marika) make him lunch, and his daughter Mai smiles as she talks to her mother. With his wife, who had once disappeared, returning as an elementary school student, the Niijima family once again enjoys the happy, everyday life. Even though she is still in the form of an elementary school student, Keisuke’s feelings for his wife who has appeared before him again overflow, and the sight of Keisuke savoring the time they can spend together and generously showing his devotion as a husband is comical yet touching.

The main cast members of this work were also announced to be Hirakawa Daisuke as Niijima Keisuke, Yuki Aoi as Niijima Takae/Shiraishi Marika, and Nomura Maiko as Niijima Mai. Hirakawa commented, “I took every feeling and word to heart during the recording.”
