“Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba” is an anime series produced by ufotable, based on the manga by Koyoharu Gotouge, which has sold over 150 million copies in total across its 23 comic volumes. The story follows Tanjiro Kamado, a boy whose family was killed by demons, who joins the Demon Slayer Corps to turn his sister Nezuko, who has also become a demon, back into a human, and throws himself into fighting demons.
Starting with “Tanjiro Kamado: Unwavering Resolve Arc” which began in April 2019, “Mugen Train Arc”, “Entertainment District Arc” and “Swordsmith Village Arc” will be broadcast and streamed by 2023. In addition, “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Train” was released in October 2020, and recorded a worldwide box office revenue of approximately 51.7 billion yen.
In the fifth episode, “Even if it means eating a demon…”, which aired last week, Tanjiro finishes training with the Love Pillar Mitsuri Kanroji and the Snake Pillar Obanai Iguro, and goes to the dojo of the Wind Pillar Sanemi Shinazugawa. Attention was focused on the interaction between the brothers Sanemi and Genya there.
In this episode 6, Tanjiro and Zenitsu Agatsuma head to the training grounds of Gyomei Himejima, which is said to be located deep in the mountains. There, Inosuke Hashibira and Murata are also there. Seeing Zenitsu, Inosuke and Murata working hard despite whining about the strict training, online comments include “I can feel their growth,” “Zenitsu is great for not running away!” and “The interaction between the Kamaboko Squad is heartwarming.”
Genya also joins in, and the change in his personality since the beginning of the story became a hot topic. At first he refused to even talk, but now he gives advice to Tanjiro, who is having trouble with his training, and comments such as “Genya is a good guy!”, “Genya has grown a lot,” and “It’s all thanks to Tanjiro” were made.
In the same episode, it was revealed that Ryusei Nakao would be the voice actor for Gen’ya’s crow. As with the other crows, the internet was abuzz with comments like, “The crow’s voice actor is so amazing lol.”
The next episode, episode 7, will air on June 23. In addition, it will be a 40-minute special along with the final episode on June 30.
