“Tokyo Revengers” sequel in the works! Visuals of Takemichi and Mikey covered in scars and a promotional video revealedIt has been decided that a sequel to the TV anime “Tokyo Revengers” will be produced. Along with this, a new key visual and PV have been released. In addition, the launch of a new project “Fairy Tale Revengers” and the implementation of a project to commemorate the 5th anniversary of the anime in 2025 were also announced.

“Tokyo Revengers” is a TV anime based on the time-leap suspense manga “Tokyo Revengers” by Ken Wakui, which was serialized in “Weekly Shonen Magazine” from 2017 to 2022 and won the Boys’ Division of the “44th Kodansha Manga Award”. It depicts Takemichi, a

former delinquent whose “prime time was in junior high school,” who travels back in time 12 years after the death of the only girlfriend he had in his life, who he dated in junior high school, and who seeks revenge on his life. In addition to being made into a TV anime, the content has been developed in multiple formats, including a live-action movie and a stage play.

The decision to make a sequel was announced on stage at the “Matsudo Touring” event, held on June 16th, to celebrate the 4th anniversary of the release of the TV anime “Tokyo Revengers” and the formation of the series. The key visual announcing the decision to make a sequel features Takemichi and Mikey covered in wounds, and the promotional video is packed with famous scenes from the previous season. The final lines spoken by Takemichi and Mikey foreshadow the start of a new revenge.

At the event, the implementation of a 5th anniversary project was also announced. This is to commemorate the 5th anniversary of the TV anime “Tokyo Revengers” starting broadcasting in 2025 next year. As the first project, a character image song live “Dachi Live” will be held at Pacifico Yokohama in Kanagawa on February 2, 2025.

Ahead of that, on October 23rd, the CD “TV Anime Tokyo Revengers Duet EP 01” will be released, which will include image songs sung by characters in pairs. Fans can’t miss out on the CD, as it will include a priority application ticket for a character image song live performance. Details of the second and subsequent parts of the 5th anniversary project will be announced at a later date.

It was also revealed that a new project called “Fairy Tale Revengers” will be launched. The plan is to turn the “fairy tales” in this work into mini-animations, with “Momotaro” scheduled to be released as the first installment. Anticipation is building for further news on what stories will be announced in the future.

In addition, it was announced that June 19th has been officially recognized by the Japan Anniversary Association as the “Tokyo Revengers/Tokyo Manji Gang Formation Anniversary.” Original author Wakui commented, “I’m so happy that everyone is celebrating the anniversary of Toman! Please continue to support Toman!” With the decision to produce a sequel and other exciting news, we can’t take our eyes off the TV anime “Tokyo Revengers,” which is getting more and more popular in the future.
