In anime, fathers are often portrayed as important characters who influence the course of the story. Depending on the work , they can be full of love for their family, lazy and boring, or the main character himself can be a father .

So Anime! conducted its annual reader survey titled “Who’s the best ‘father’ character?” The survey was conducted from June 4th to June 8th, and 551 people responded. The

gender ratio was about 40 percent male, 50 percent female, and about 10 percent gave no response, with slightly more females than males. In terms of age group, about 35 percent were 19 years old or younger, and about 15 percent each were in their 20s and 30s.
