The anniversary Blu-ray box celebrating the 20th anniversary of the TV anime “SAMURAI7” has been released! It includes all 26 episodes of the TV series as well as bonus footage!!The TV anime “SAMURAI7” was produced in 2004 as a project to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the release of the original “Seven Samurai” by the master director Akira Kurosawa. A Blu-ray BOX has been released to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the TV anime!

This work was produced by the animation studio GONZO in a high-spec format of full digital HD quality and 5.1ch surround sound, which was unprecedented at the time, making it a pioneering work of today’s mainstream high-definition digital animation.

The animation was based on the original’s fascinating worldview and characters, but was reconstructed with the addition of science fiction elements, such as a setting that benefits from mechanized civilization. The battle between Kanbee and seven other samurai, who are hired by farmers for “rice,” and the giant mechanical samurai “Nobushi Seri” is a highlight unique to the anime!

This Blu-ray includes all 26 episodes of the TV series in HD quality and 5.1ch audio, just like the original master, as well as DVD bonus footage such as “Komachi News,” “Okara Observation Diary,” and “Creditless OP/ED” in HD quality. What’s more, the jacket is a gorgeous design with a newly drawn illustration. Be sure to check it out ♪
