*Due to the nature of this theme, the following text contains descriptions that may contain spoilers for those who have not watched the TV series. Please be careful when reading further.
Based on the manga currently being serialized in Weekly Shonen Magazine. The story of 300 high school forwards gathered in Blue Rock (blue prison) and aiming to become the world’s best striker has become popular, and the cumulative circulation of the comic has exceeded 30 million copies.
The TV anime will be broadcast in 2022, and after the broadcast ends, it was announced that the second season of the TV anime will be produced.
The movie version is based on the spin-off “Blue Rock – EPISODE Nagi -” and depicts the story from the perspective of Seishiro Nagi, who has an extraordinary sense of soccer.
Seishiro Nagi is a second year high school student who always says “it’s a pain”. He is the central character of this work, and he starts playing soccer at the invitation of his classmate, Reio Mikage, who dreams of winning the World Cup.
Even in the movie, Nagi is so lethargic that she drinks jelly for breakfast. The moment when Nagi realizes how interesting soccer is is one of the highlights of this work.
In the TV series, the match between Team Z and Team V of the first selection is mainly depicted from Kiyoshiichi’s perspective. In this work, you can see the changes in Nagi that were a threat to Kiyoshi and his friends from a different perspective.
I get goosebumps when the genius awakens during the match…!
With the defeat to Team Z, Nagi and Reio’s “undefeated record” is broken.
Nagi learns of defeat for the first time. The expression on his face along with the line “I’m disappointed” is a must-see.
In this work, which depicts the match against Team Z from Team V’s perspective, you will be able to more strongly feel the awakening of the genius Seishiro Nagi.
Speaking of Team V, it’s Nagi and Reio. And what we must not forget is the existence of Kenjou Zantetsu.
Although he often uses difficult words, he often misuses them, and Nagi and the others call him “Stupid Zantetsu.”
There is no doubt that you will want to comment on the statements that are full of mistakes in this work.
However, this time’s Zantetsu is a little different.
It also delves into family situations and personal aspects that were not depicted in the TV series.
In Zantetsu, there is only one person in a family of talented people who is an idiot. What is the goal he talks about? It’s not just stupid, there’s also a new side to pay attention to.
She also showed off her bathing scene with her glasses off and her bangs down. I also want you to pay attention to his appearance, which is more handsome than you might imagine.
This work also depicts Nagi and Reio’s life at Hakuho High School.
In the TV series, Reio was impressive as he carried Nagi on his back, but his caring nature started when he was in high school. You can also get a peek into how they get along well in high school outside of club activities.
Then, as a pair of geniuses, the two win the match and receive an invitation to Blue Rock. What is the reason why Nagi, who hates troublesome things, joined Blue Rock? Nagi and Reio’s goal is to become the best in the world together. What is the meaning of two people participating in Blue Rock where only one person can survive? Please check it out at the theater.
It was during the second round of selection that our once-loving relationship changed significantly. Those who clear the first stage will form a group of three for the third stage, “Rivalry Battle.”
It seemed natural for Nagi to team up with Reiou, but Nagi chooses Kiyoshi and Haraku. Hiraku also asked, “Are you the cold-hearted type?” Nagi had her own thoughts behind this behavior.
On the other hand, Reio is unable to see Nagi’s back as she heads towards the third stage. “Do whatever you like,” she said coldly, but what she really wanted to convey was… I want you to prepare a handkerchief and then listen to Reio’s true feelings after being left behind in the matching area.
The two play on different teams and grow in their respective places. What happened to the goal of “two people being the best in the world”? How will that relationship change in the future? I want you to watch it till the end without getting up even after the end credits are over.
This work depicts Blue Rock from a new perspective different from the TV series. You will also be able to learn new charms of the characters, and there is no doubt that you will fall deeper into the swamp. There is someone who discovers “genius,” and only then can it take shape.Let’s go to the theater to find genius!
“Blue Rock the Movie -EPISODE Nagi-”
