This work is an abnormal magic fantasy in which the protagonist crushes magic with his well-trained strength and power. Set in a “magic world” where anyone can use magic as a matter of course, this is a hotly-discussed work that has attracted attention in countries and regions around the world, depicting the exploits and friendships of the main character, Mash Burndead, who cannot use magic.

The story is set in a “wizard world” where magic is a gift from God and people’s status is determined by their magical skill.
Those with magical powers are born with a linear birthmark on their face, and in the magical world, most people have a single birthmark (first-line magicians). In addition, there are those chosen by magic, with one in 100,000 having two birthmarks (second-line magicians).
In this world, those who cannot use magic have no birthmarks and are rejected from society as magically deficient, which could be said to be an unfair situation. The protagonist, a boy named Mash Burndead, attends Easton School of Magic to protect his peaceful life with his family. While hiding the fact that he cannot use magic, he aims to become a “Divine Enlightener,” the top being in the magical world, using only his superhuman body as a weapon.
“Easton School of Magic” is a prestigious school that has produced elite wizards who will play a central role in the magical world. This school is a boarding school with three houses, “Adora”, “Leanne” and “Orca”, and students are assigned to a house based on their characteristics when they enroll.
The Adora House’s characteristics are “courage and conviction.” On the back of the jet-black robes is the house’s motif, an eagle logo. The house is characterized by its friendly students and the courage to continue moving forward toward their goals. The head of the house, the prefect, is the divine awakener, Rain Ames.
