The story begins when Nukumizu Kazuhiko, a loner and philosophical first-year high school student who loves light novels, witnesses the end of the unrequited love of Yanagi Anna, a popular girl in his class.

When Onsui ends up having to pay the restaurant bill in advance, Yanami suggests that he repay the money he borrowed by making homemade lunches, and they decide to have lunch together on the emergency stairs of the old school building every day.

From then on, Nukumizu begins to interact not only with Yanami, but also with a number of loser heroines with unique personalities.

Since the TV anime began airing, its popularity has grown with each episode.
