・I liked the original work, so I was wondering what kind of voice it would be, but I liked how it flowed smoothly without compromising the fun of the manga, such as when she recites the princess’ glorious title or when she accidentally succumbs to the intense torture and says “Princess!?” I’m looking forward to the second season! (Female, 20s)
・He is a member of the Demon King’s army, whose fluffy chest hair has made Princess Suyaris fall in love with him. Contrary to his appearance, he is earnest and has a warm voice that warms the heart of the characters. (Male, 30s)
・A character that is very fluffy.
He is a monster who serves as the “Demon King’s loyal dog” and has many subordinates called Red Ziberians, making him a surprisingly capable and influential person.
In the story, he is portrayed as a stubborn person, but in reality, contrary to appearances, he is a big carnivore, and when fighting he uses weapons such as claws and fangs, making him quite a talented warrior race. In fact, even among monsters, he has a wide variety of personalities… (Male, 20s)
- His acting is life-sized and natural, making it seem as if the characters are breathing and really existent.
I was captivated by the charming acting in this work. (Female, 20s)
・In the worldview of Golden Kamuy, which has a variety of ups and downs, he plays Sugimoto, who is sincere and kind at heart, but can also become cruelly strong, just like in the original work. (Woman, 20s)
-Since she originally performed on stage, her acting isn’t anime-like in a good way, and I really like her very natural way of speaking.
I was able to get a sense of Sugimoto’s feelings, which are difficult to imagine in the post-Russo-Japanese War era, which is different from modern times. (Female, 20s)
・This was the first time I learned about Chikahiro.
I thought it was amazing that he could do everything from the manly, powerful voice in the battle scenes to the playful voice in the heartwarming comedy scenes.
I’m really looking forward to seeing Chikahiro’s performance as Sugimoto in the sequel. (Woman, 30s)
・There is a strong sense that they are the same person, with Chikahiro being Sugimoto and Sugimoto being Chikahiro. Both of them are usually very kind, but at certain moments the strength of their hidden feelings comes out.
Only Chikahiro can bring out that “rawness.” (Woman, 30s)
・Kobayashi-san’s natural and realistic acting is appealing in all his works, but his Sugimoto Saichi is especially unique. It’s hard to tell if he’s acting or not.
What is that feeling of Sugimoto Saichi being there and talking?
I am grateful for the encounter between Saichi Sugimoto and Chikahiro Kobayashi. (Woman, 50s)
・This is the work that first introduced me to Kobayashi Chikahiro.
I’m originally a fan of the original manga, but when I saw Kobayashi-san’s Sugimoto in the anime, I was surprised at how the way he delivered his lines matched perfectly with the image of Sugimoto I had in my mind. Not only did it feel natural, it always left me in awe and moved by the way Sugimoto delivered his lines.
I think he does a great job of portraying Sugimoto, who is able to handle both serious and comedic roles, and who also has both madness and charm.
Furthermore, Kobayashi-san’s solid acting allows her to play the main character with depth and strength, which gives the many talented voice actors who work with her the opportunity to compete freely and comfortably in the role.
Not just for Sugimoto, but for any role in any work, Kobayashi’s performance is in a level that makes it impossible to imagine anyone else playing him, so it’s difficult to choose just one work, but I would say that his most representative work is his role as Sugimoto in Golden Kamuy. I’m also looking forward to seeing Sugimoto in the next season. (Woman in her 50s)
