It has now been announced that a Japanese dubbed version will be screened, and the cast of voice actors has been announced.
The cast members are Koichi Yamadera as Beetlejuice, Maaya Sakamoto as Lydia, Miyuki Sawashiro as Dolores, Mariya Ise as Astrid, Chiaki Kobayashi as Jeremy, Toshiyuki Morikawa as Laurie, Kazuhiro Yamaji as Wolf, and Keiko Toda as Delia. Comments have arrived.
In addition, a full-length dubbed trailer featuring the voice actors has been released.
The voice actors for this film will not only be in charge of the Japanese dubbing, but will also be attempting the first ever “full-body dubbing” in which they will completely transform into the characters, including their appearance.
At the top left of the image, standing firmly in front of the microphone is Yamadera Kouichi, who plays Michael Keaton as Beetlejuice. Yamadera took on the full-body dubbing with extensive preparation, spending four hours to make a plaster cast of his face in advance and four and a half hours on the day of the performance for the special makeup. He showed off his characteristic cheerfulness and mysterious, amusing expression.
To the right of Yamadera “Beetlejuice” Koichi is Sakamoto “Lydia” Maaya, facing the microphone with Lydia’s unique hairstyle. To her right is Ise “Astrid” Mariya, wearing freckled makeup. In the middle left is Toda “Delia” Keiko, who is particular about her red wig, which she has further modified with hair color and cut.
In the middle right is Morikawa “Rory” Tomoyuki, who has a classical yet somewhat suspicious appearance. In the bottom left is Yamaji “Wolf” Kazuhiro. To his right is Kobayashi “Jeremy” Chiaki. The characters have been recreated with extraordinary attention to detail, including the fullness of their hairstyles and the volume of their curls.
And on the bottom right, we see Sawashiro “Dolores” Miyuki, who is using a stapler to staple together the dismembered body parts. Since the film has not yet been released, the only information available was the trailer and stills, and some costumes were made from fabric, with the costumes and hairstyles being identical to the originals.
Additionally, some of the items were imported from overseas to be the same ones that Michael Keaton and Catherine O’Hara actually used during filming, making this a one-of-a-kind “full-body dubbing” that is the chemistry of the production team’s extraordinary effort and love, and the voice actors’ desire to have fun and respond to their expectations.
When I heard that it was a full-body dubbing, I thought, “What does that mean? It must be hard,” but it was really hard! It took dozens of times more time, manpower, and effort than normal dubbing. It was the first time I had a schedule with four hours of preparation time, and the plaster cast beforehand took even longer. Originally, I was doing voice acting because I wanted to become someone other than myself, so it was a good memory, and I’m glad that they paid attention to even the smallest details. Michael Keaton, who plays Beetlejuice, put a lot of effort into his voice, so I worked hard and worked hard until I was hoarse. Dubbing foreign films has a different kind of appeal from anime voice acting, so please pay attention to it. I’ve done this much, so please spread the buzz!
Halloween has become a more familiar event than ever before, so I thought, “Maybe I’ll enjoy dressing up like this now,” and I did a full-body dubbing. It’s truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience. I hope to express Lydia, who looks scary at first glance but also has a gentle side. I first saw “Beetlejuice” when I was in elementary school, and I love it so much that I don’t know how many times I’ve rented it on video. Winona Ryder is a really great actor, so I never thought I’d be involved in it after all these years, and I was really surprised and happy.
At first, I thought the full-body dubbing would be like cosplay, but when I heard that they wanted to recreate the character with the same quality as Hollywood, I was happy to participate. During the four hours of makeup, my senses were busy with sticky and soft touches, as well as the feeling of something gooey being stretched and the smell of the art room. I was looking forward to seeing the finished product. It was the first time I wanted people to look at me so closely. As the scars increased one by one with the makeup, I felt like I was getting closer and closer to Dolores.
初めは、全身吹替とは何だろう？とまったくイメージが掴めていなかったです。
衣装もヘアメイクもそのままアストリッドに変身して、そばかすもメイクで入れているのがポイントです。姿形からキャラクターに挑むのは声優人生初のことだったのでとても楽しかったです。
ティム・バートン監督の世界観がここぞとばかりに詰め込まれたハロウィンの夜にふさわしいホラーコメディ映画なので、ワクワクしながらアフレコさせていただきました。
全身吹替の方々が錚々たる面々でしたので、そこに僕が参加させていただけるなんて本当に夢のようで光栄な気持ちでいっぱいです。ここまでキャラクターになりきるのはなかなか無いことなので、役が憑依したような、これまでにない感覚でお芝居できた素晴らしい経験でした。ジェレミーはこの作品のキーになるキャラクターだと思っていて、僕自身「どうなっちゃうの！？」とワクワクしながら演じました。ティム・バートン監督にしか出せないダークな雰囲気と、それ以上に賑やかで楽しい魅力が溢れた作品です。
ティム・バートン監督並みのぶっとんだ発想の全身吹替企画だと思っています。それに乗っかって楽しく撮影させていただきましたし、私のトレードマークでもある前髪とメガネを取っ払ってしまったという意味でも面白かったです。ティム・バートン監督作品だからこそ実施できた企画だと思いますし、彼にしか表現できない唯一無二の世界に参加できたことが光栄です。とても賑やかで楽しい映画になっていて、全身吹替版の声優陣もとても豪華な作品なので、ぜひ字幕版・吹替版の両方を楽しんでいただければと思います。
とんでもない現場に来させていただきました。全身吹替の特殊メイクにあたり、事前に型取りもして、当日は4時間かけて支度をするなど、アフレコをしている時間が一番短かった気がします。こんな経験はもちろん初めてでしたが、ここまでやるのか！？という驚きと楽しみがありました。頭からお尻までティム・バートンワールド全開な物語です。ウィレム・デフォーが演じるウルフを、私も楽しくアフレコをさせていただきました。ウルフのラストシーンにはぜひご注目ください。
全身吹替と聞いて、それくらい気合いを入れたいということなんだと解釈して挑みました。舞台でもウィッグを被ることはよくあるので、私自身は違和感なく演じることができました。アニメでは役に寄せた衣装やヘアメイクをすることもあると思うのですが、洋画でここまでやるのは初めてのことです。ティム・バートンの世界観が全面に出ているので、とても楽しい作品になっています。私が演じたデリアは、感情がころころ変わる役柄で、叫んだと思ったらフッと戻ったりしたりと、非常にやりがいもあり、面白く演じさせていただきました。
あわせて解禁となった全身吹替版予告では、ビートルジュースをはじめ一癖も二癖もあるキャラクターたちが続々登場。
山寺宏一さんが声を枯らしながらアフレコに臨んだという、ビートルジュースの生き生きとした演技を垣間見ることができるほか、ビートルジュースに翻弄される坂本真綾さん、森川智之さん、沢城みゆきさん、伊瀬茉莉也さん、山路和弘さんらの声も確認することができます。
また、IMAX®DolbyCinema®に加えて、4DXMX4D®ScreenXでのラージフォーマット上映も決定しました。
死後の世界で“人間怖がらせ屋”を営んでいる推定年齢600歳のお騒がせ者・ビートルジュース（マイケル・キートン）は、かつて結婚を迫るも叶わなかったリディア（ウィノナ・ライダー）のことが今も忘れられないでいる。彼の願いはただひとつ、「人間と結婚」し、死後の世界から人間界へ移り住むことなのだ。一方、リディアは自身の霊能力を活かしTV番組「ゴーストハウス」の司会としてお茶の間の人気を博しているものの、私生活では一人娘・アストリッド（ジェナ・オルテガ）との母娘関係に頭を悩ませている。なぜならアストリッドは幽霊の存在をまったく信じておらず、母親の霊能力をインチキだとさえ思っているからだ。
そんななか、死後の世界で事件が起きる。何世紀にもわたり、死後の世界の倉庫に身体をバラバラに封じ込められていたビートルジュースの元妻・ドロレス（モニカ・ベルッチ）が復活してしまう。ドロレスはビートルジュースに復讐したい因縁があるらしく執拗に探し回るが、一年で最も不気味な夜が訪れるハロウィンの日に急展開が。なんとアストリッドが死後の世界に囚われてしまい、なんとか娘を助け出したいリディアは最終手段としてビートルジュースに助けを求めることに。
ビートルジュースへの復讐に燃えるドロレス、今度こそリディアとの結婚を成就させたいビートルジュース、死後の世界に囚われた一人娘を助け出したいリディア、はたしてハロウィンの夜に訪れる結末とは——。
