The opening theme song for “Chi. -About the Earth’s Movement-” has been decided to be performed by Sakanaction! It is their first new song in two years and their first theme song for a TV anime! A comment has also arrived from Ichiro Yamaguchi!The story of those who risked their lives and their beliefs to prove the heliocentric theory proposed by the young genius author Uo Toyo, which won the Manga Grand Prize at the 26th Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize and many other awards, “Chi. -About the Movement of the Earth-” is being made into a TV anime. It will start airing on NHK General TV (every Saturday at 11:45 pm) in October 2024.

It has been announced that Sakanaction will be in charge of the opening theme song. In addition to a comment from artist Ichiro Yamaguchi, book and publication information has also arrived.

I was able to read the work without any prior knowledge, so I really enjoyed it.

What appears to be historical fact and fiction are mixed together on the edge of the book, and there are no logical gaps no matter how far you read.

It is a work that is built on a fantastic sense of balance, with the passion of humanity mixed into it.

Rather than turning the original theme into music that was easy to understand and concrete, I focused on making it as abstract and persuasive as possible.

Even though we had been on hiatus for two years and it had been a while since we released a new song, we were given the opportunity to perform the theme song for a TV anime for the first time with “Chi. – About the Movement of the Earth.”

Above all, it is a great honor for the band to be involved in this wonderful production.

We hope that our feelings will be conveyed to our listeners.
