The third cast of the live-action film “Cells at Work” has been announced! Koji Yamamoto, Riisa Naka, Wakana Matsumoto, and Micah Pyu have been confirmed to appear! The live-action film “Cells at Work” will be released on Friday, December 13, 2024. The third batch of the star-studded cast has now been announced!

The appearances of Koji Yamamoto, Riisa Naka, Wakana Matsumoto, and Micah Pyu have been confirmed, and their comments have arrived.

The main force of immune cells with a strong killing ability to find and destroy foreign substances such as bacteria and virus-infected cells. Koji Yamamoto has been chosen to play the Killer T Cell, a combative, athletic cell with a trademark hat that reads “KILL”! He has played memorable roles such as Alien Mefilas in the movie “Shin Ultraman” and the “Kingdom” series, and has also appeared in the just-released “If Tokugawa Ieyasu Were Prime Minister,” and this is the first time he has teamed up with Director Takeuchi since the 1997 drama “Under One Roof 2.”

Similarly, the role of the NK cell, a lone wolf that is a natural born killer, as its name suggests, and that takes the lead in attacking foreign bodies such as bacteria and virus-infected cells, is played by Naka Riisa, who has appeared in many popular works, including the Netflix series “Alice in Borderland,” “Let’s Divorce,” and the TV drama “Inappropriate! In the play, she shows off her cool and sharp saber skills.

The macrophage, who has many faces, including being the “nurturer” of the young red blood cells and always wearing a gentle smile, but also capturing and killing foreign bodies such as bacteria, will be played by Wakana Matsumoto, who currently stars in the drama “Saionji-san Doesn’t Do Housework.” Be sure to pay attention to the gap between her appearance of teaching the red blood cells how to transport oxygen with a Virgin Mary-like smile and her high killing power.

When blood vessels are damaged, platelets join forces with many other members to seal the wound and stop the bleeding. Model Mica Pyu was selected to play the platelet, who is smaller than other cells and takes on the role of leader. Platelets are so popular in the original work that a spin-off work has been produced, and they can be seen everywhere in the play, making it a must-see for platelet fans.

Rather than playing the role of a killer T cell, I think of myself as playing a warrior, but the relationships between the cells are interesting. NK cells move around on their own. Killer T cells can’t go into action unless they receive a command. White blood cells and red blood cells have this function… Just like platelets, each has their own role, so it’s interesting.

The role I played this time was a character who trained his body, and I like to train, so I was grateful. If I had been offered the role of a white blood cell, I would have had to get slimmer. That’s why I was satisfied with the role of a killer T cell.

It’s been a while since I last worked with Director Takeuchi, but I felt a great sense of security. Director Takeuchi has clear expectations, so that made me happy. He would say things like, “Just do it a little more like this!”, so I really got the feeling that it would be Director Takeuchi’s.

I’m really honored to be included among such a distinguished cast. I’m really curious to see what that scene is like! I’m really looking forward to seeing the finished product.

I was very excited about the unknown of how I would play the role of a cell for the first time.

This film expresses the reactions between cells in the body as action scenes, but it was the first time in my physical history that I participated in such an intense action scene. My body was screaming from the muscle pain that attacked me one after another, but I encouraged myself and my cells by saying, “The cells inside me are doing their best too!” (laughs)

Thanks to the support of my co-stars, the staff, and everyone who supervised me in the action scenes, I believe I was able to portray a very cool live-action version of NK cells.

This is a film that will allow people of all ages, from children to adults, to learn about the functions of cells in a fun and sometimes moving way, so please look forward to its release.

Macrophage looks very gentle, but when it comes to fighting, he instantly changes sides. He has a reliable side, a gentle side, and a cool side, which I thought was very appealing.
