The image shows the protagonist Mizuho’s four childhood friends, Teruzuki, Miku, Ai, and Shugo, lying on their backs in shallow water, gazing ahead as if they are gazing at someone. The striking design features blue and splashes of water, and the visual is reminiscent of the comic book cover of the same work, making it an eye-catching piece.

A high school sophomore aspiring to become a manga artist. She

has four childhood friends who have known each other for ten years and live in Koigahama Highland. She longs for a sparkling youth, but has no experience in love, so she is confused by Terutsuki’s sudden confession.

In ten years, she will be an editor of a girls’ manga.

He is a popular member of the swimming club. Among his childhood friends, he is the youngest and does things at his own pace. He is very fond of Mizuho and actively approaches her.

A popular reader model and influencer.

She has a bright and party-like personality, but also has a caring side to those around her. She often gives advice to Mizuho.

A boy who enjoys literature and subculture. He is the most critical of the four, but he is also the mood maker.

He always teases Mizuho. He likes cooking, just like his father.

Q1. Could you tell us what the appeal of this work is?

One of the charms of Koishima is that it is based on high school students who are living different lives from the normal everyday life they take for granted, with school events and club competitions being canceled due to the effects of the infectious disease. I think it is a work that makes us realize that even the days that seem empty are filled with irreplaceable encounters and precious moments. I would like people of all ages to watch it, not just students!

Q2. Could you tell us about your enthusiasm for playing the role of Nishino Mizuho?

There are some parts of Mizuho that I think are similar to myself when I was in high school, so I felt a sense of affinity with her from the first time I read the original work. Mizuho is an ordinary high school student who goes through each day worrying about her relationships with the important people around her and her own feelings, so I can empathize with her feelings and worry, cry, and laugh together with her. I would like to give it my all and play the true, authentic Mizuho!

Q1. Could you tell us what the appeal of this work is?

I really like the life-sized love stories of the main characters, including Mizuho. They’re so cool that they’re called Koigahama Highlands, and they attract attention, but when it comes to love, they’re still like high school students, timid and blind. It’s impossible to watch them being tossed around by love without getting excited.

The depiction of the subtleties of the heart is so delicate that I think it’s a really fun work to let your imagination run wild with all sorts of fantasies from just one frame of the manga.

Q2. Could you tell us about your enthusiasm for playing the role of Hazawa Teruzuki?

Teruzuki-kun usually has a small facial expression and it’s hard to read what he’s thinking, but he actually has a straightforward personality that’s easy to understand. I want to convey the unique mystery and straightforwardness that exudes from him, and I want to act each line carefully so that I can convey his feelings naturally.

Q1. Could you tell us what the appeal of this work is?

This is a work that makes you want to cherish the time you are living now and the youth you spent in the past. Mizuho and the other four are dazzling!

Seeing them in love, with friendship and enjoying their youth to the fullest makes you feel envious, and fills you with something important that you had forgotten in your heart. I think it gives you the power to do your best tomorrow.

Q2. Could you tell us about your enthusiasm for playing the role of Kashiwagi Miku?

I am really happy and delighted to be able to play Fuka-kun this time. He is an honor student, cool and handsome, of course, but when he is in front of Mizuho, he also looks a little cute, which is a charm I felt while reading the story, and I will try to make it feel like that is alive in the anime. I will

do my best to breathe life into him while remembering my youth, so please support me!

Q1. Could you tell us what the appeal of this work is?

I read the book for the audition and was hooked. The sea in the city, the pool at Teruzuki’s club, the shower… the depiction of water is very beautiful. My first impression was the beauty of youth, combined with the fresh atmosphere of the story. What attracted me was the parts that I felt were meticulously calculated, such as the portrayal of the characters’ psychology and the structure of the timeline. The story begins with a monologue from Mizuho in the future, but the insertion of a future (and sometimes past) perspective makes even casual events seem impressive. The story is a thrilling, straightforward development that coexists with a certain adult depth. You’re sure to discover something new every time you rewatch it. By facing real-life situations, I feel like it allows you to think about everyone without leaving them behind. I’m very happy to be in the role!
