“Magic Knight Rayearth” new anime project begins! Visuals and PV releasedOne of the masterpieces of the creative group CLAMP, “Magic Knight Rayearth”, is celebrating its 30th anniversary since its TV anime broadcast, and a new anime adaptation project has been launched. In conjunction with this, a new anime adaptation visual overlooking the other world “Cephiro” has been released. The TV anime 30th anniversary logo and the new anime adaptation promotional video were also unveiled.

“Magic Knight Rayearth” is an otherworldly adventure story brought to you by CLAMP, also known for “Cardcaptor Sakura,” “xxxHOLiC,” and “Tsubasa: RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE.” While

on a school trip to Tokyo Tower, Shidou Hikaru, Ryuzaki Umi, and Hououji Fuu are suddenly summoned by Princess Emerald of the otherworldly world of “Cephiro.” The story follows the fate of the three girls who become legendary “Magic Knights” in order to save the captured princess.

It was serialized in Kodansha’s girls’ manga magazine Nakayoshi from 1993 to 1995, and was made into a TV anime by Tokyo Movie (now TMS Entertainment) from 1994 to 1995, becoming a huge hit. It is also memorable that the theme song “Yuzurenai Negai” by Naomi Tamura sold over one million copies. 2024 marks the 30th anniversary of the TV anime’s broadcast.

The new anime visual released for the newly launched Magic Knight Rayearth depicts the three girls, Hikaru Shidou, Umi Ryuzaki, and Fuu Hououji, who have been summoned as magic knights, looking forward to the fantastical parallel world of Cephiro. They each hold their swords in their hands, creating a spectacular finish that foreshadows the start of adventure and battle.

In commemoration of this project, a new anime adaptation promotional video was also unveiled. The promotional video features a special logo created to commemorate the 30th anniversary, and opens with beautiful color illustrations from the original manga by CLAMP. It also includes anime footage from “Magic Knight Rayearth” that aired 30 years ago, and fans can enjoy the charming expressions of the characters and the trajectory of the story, making it a must-see for fans. Starting on July 3rd, the large-scale “CLAMP Exhibition” will finally be held, tracing the history of the creative group CLAMP.
