“Tokyo Revengers” is a time-leap suspense manga by Ken Wakui that was serialized in “Weekly Shonen Magazine” from 2017 to 2022 and won the Shonen category of the “44th Kodansha Manga Award.” It depicts Takemichi, a former delinquent whose “prime time was in junior high school,” traveling back in time 12 years after the death of the only girlfriend he had in his life during his junior high school days, and his quest for revenge on his life.
Based on the novel, the stage adaptation of “Tokyo Revengers”, also known as “Libeste”, began with the first installment in August 2021, followed by the second installment, “Blood Halloween Arc”, in March-April 2022, and the third installment, “Christmas Eve Showdown Arc”, in December 2023-January 2024. When the fourth installment, “Tenjiku Arc”, was announced the other day, it generated a huge response, with people expressing joy for the sequel and expectations for new characters.
This time, the long-awaited full cast and role information has been announced. The role of the main character, Hanagaki Takemichi, will be played by Kizu Tsubasa, who also starred in the stage plays “Hell’s Paradise” and “Dr. Stone the Stage -Science World-“, as in the previous work. The first president of Tokyo Manji Gang, commonly known as “Invincible Mikey”, will be played by Matsuda Ryo, who is currently active in roles such as Levi in “Attack on Titan -the Musical-“.
In addition, Ueda Keisuke, who plays the lead role of Kuga Yuma in “World Trigger the Stage,” will play Matsuno Chifuyu, and Chinnai Masaru, who plays Sumeragi Tenma in “MANKAI STAGE “A3!”, will play Ryuguji Ken, and other stellar cast members will be continuing to appear in their roles from the previous work, adding to the excitement of “Libeste.”
Furthermore, the long-awaited new cast members for “Tenjiku”, Tokyo Manji Gang’s greatest enemy, who will make a new appearance in this film, have also been revealed. The role of Kurokawa Izana, the mysterious leader of Tenjiku, one of the most popular characters in “Tokyo Revengers”, will be played by Kitamura Ryo, who played Sano Manjiro in the musical “Tokyo Revengers”. The role of Tsurucho, the leader of the Tenjiku Four Heavenly Kings and nicknamed the “brawler”, will be played by Iwaki Naoya, who plays Cain in the stage production “The Wizard’s Promise”.
Additionally, the roles of Haitani Ran and Rindo, one of the most popular duo in Tenjiku, will be played by Konan Mitsuji, who has appeared in a number of popular productions such as the musicals “Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion – A Knight Following the Righteous Path” and “Moriarty the Patriot,” and Takahashi Yuri, whose popularity is on the rise and who appeared in “Experimental Theater ‘Kage-danshi'” and is playing the lead role in the stage play “Kage-shi of the Demon God – Reiron Manka-hen,” have been selected.
In addition, Kentaro Kanesaki, who played Swartz in “Kamen Rider Zi-O”, will play the role of Yasuhiro Muto, captain of the 5th division of Tokyo Manji Gang, and the twins Nahoya and Souya Kawata, captain and vice captain of the 4th division of Tokyo Manji Gang, will be played by real twins Takuto Ohmi and Yota Ohmi. Expectations are high for the well-coordinated acting that only twins can do.
The roles of the popular duo Inui Aomogi and Kui Hajime will be played for the first time by Nishime Shun, who played Tenkuji Takeru in “Kamen Rider Ghost,” and Tsubokura Yasuharu, who has played Nero in the stage play “The Wizard’s Promise” and the lead role of Hasegawa Kota in “Miracle☆Stage “Sanrio Boys” ~One More Time~.”
In addition, Nemoto Ruka (Aioke) will take on the role of Hinata Tachibana, and Ito Momoka will continue to play the role of Sano Emma from the third installment. With new cast members joining the existing cast, you can’t miss this latest installment of the ever-evolving “Libeste” series.
