Haikyu!!'' by Haruichi Furudate began serialization in Shueisha's
Weekly Shonen Jump” in February 2012. A monumental sports manga that gained popularity with its passionate youth drama about high school students competing in volleyball. The eight-and-a-half-year series was completed in July 2020, and the cumulative circulation of all 45 comics has exceeded 60 million copies.
The TV anime, which began broadcasting on Mainichi Broadcasting and TBS in 2014, has become a very popular series that has attracted many fans and viewers until the 4th season of the series, “Haikyu!! TO THE TOP”.
In addition, “Haikyu the Movie!! Battle at the Garbage Dump”, which was released nationwide on February 16, 2024, finally surpassed 10 billion yen in box office revenue on April 30. The number of viewers continues to increase, and as of June 9th, box office revenue has been recorded at 10.9 billion yen.
For the popular anime “Haikyu!!”, 2024 will be the anniversary year, marking the 10th anniversary since its broadcast. To commemorate this, the “Anime ‘Haikyu!!’ 10th Anniversary -Connecting- Project” will start on April 6th. A variety of projects are currently underway to connect fans with the anime “Haikyu!!”.
One of these projects is the “Connected” School Visual, which features Karasuno High School, to which the main character Hinata belongs, as well as Karasuno’s rivals who have fought exciting battles. Four new schools have been added to the visual.
Aoba Johsai High School has a setter, Toru Oikawa, who makes accurate tosses, and a spiker, Hajime Iwaizumi, who completes the toss with the “breathing of Aun”. Date Technical High School, which boasts an “iron wall”, has Takanobu Aone, who blocks with blocks, and Kenji Futakuchi, who strengthens his defense with receivers. Miyagi’s absolute champion, Shiratorizawa Gakuen High School, has Wakatoshi Ushijima, who shoots powerful spikes, and Satoru Tendo, who plays with tricky movements and instincts. Fukurodani Gakuen High School has Kotaro Bokuto, one of the top five spikers in the country, and Keiji Akaashi, the setter who supports him. Each school has its own characteristics.
