It has been decided that the live-action film will be released on Friday, December 13, 2024, with Yuki Amami playing the role of Beniko, the owner of the candy shop. At the same time, teaser visuals and videos, as well as comments from Yuki Amami and the staff, have been released.

Visuals filled with dreams that will excite both adults and children have been released. Beniko is smiling as she stands holding her pet cat, Sumimaru, in a shop lined with Mysterious Candies'' that will pique your interest, such as Beast Biscuits”, Mold-cut Mermaid Gummies'', and Baby Bats”.
In the video that was also released, a boy wanders into an alley leading to Zentendo, and a special “mysterious candy” that matches the children’s simple but earnest wishes appears. While the strange beckoning makes your heart flutter, you become more and more drawn to the exciting worldview that you want to visit at least once.
At the end, Beniko, played by Amami, appears with a meaningful smile and says, “Whether you are happy or unhappy is up to the customer…!?” The best New Year’s movie that both adults and children can enjoy has been born.
The owner of Zentendo, a shop that sells mysterious sweets that can make any wish come true. She has pure white hair tied up, bright red lipstick, and a reddish-purple kimono with an old coin pattern. He senses the wishes of customers who visit his store and recommends the desired candy.

name is Yuki Amami and I will be playing the role of Beniko.
When I was offered the role of Beniko, I was a little surprised, wondering if it would be okay for me to play, but I was very excited.
The original work is popular all over the world and has been made into an animation, so I tried to act in a way that would not destroy the image of Beniko among the fans.
This time, I spent nearly 3 hours doing special makeup and preparations every time I took a photo shoot to become Beniko, and it was so much fun!
I was drawn to Director Nakata’s passion and vitality, and it was a wonderful and passionate scene.
I was really happy because I had hoped to work with Director Nakata someday.
It’s a work with a really wonderful worldview and a lot to learn, so I think it will be enjoyed not only by children but also by adults.
I hope you look forward to it.
The impetus for this work came from my own family’s desire to see Zenitendo as a movie!
Even children have wishes hidden in their hearts that they cannot tell anyone. Even if it involves outwitting others or making someone close to you unhappy, once people’s greed starts to grow, it can get out of control.
Beniko, played by Amami, looks at people who have had such desires with a gentle yet sharp gaze, acting as the “referee of life.” Please look forward to the one and only Beniko who can only be played by Yuki Amami!
In January 2024, I was lucky enough to be able to visit the filming site of a movie.
I was simply moved by the unique spirit of so many people trying to create one thing, and by the overwhelming set.
Above all, I was overwhelmed by Amami’s Beniko.
Beniko herself has a bewitching and mysterious atmosphere.
I was drawn in by the performance and was thrilled.
I really can’t wait to see what kind of movie it will be.
I would also like to express my sincere gratitude to everyone who worked on the film.
I was very happy to hear about the live-action adaptation.
I had the opportunity to visit the filming location, and there was a world of Zentendo that seemed to pop out of a book. I was captivated by the many cheap sweets lined up in the store, and I felt the regal aura of Beniko, played by Amami, just like the one in the book. I’m looking forward to seeing it completed!
