Official interviews after each episode of “Weird People’s Salad Bowl”: Episode 5 is with Daichi Ha, who plays the role of Pricket. | It’s like going into a sauna, getting ready in the sauna, having your dreams broken, and dreaming again… (lol).The characters that appear are all weirdos!? The TV anime “Weird People’s Salad Bowl” is an unparalleled group comedy released by the duo of Yomi Hirasaka and Kantoku in this era. Poor detective Sosuke Kaburaya meets Sarah, a princess from another world who wields magic, while he was following him. And Livia, a female knight who has been chasing Sarah. The two spend a daily life that goes beyond their expectations.

Episode 5 is about Priketsu, who was working at a sex cabaret in order to become a professional musician! After Pricketts reunites with Livia and gets ready in the sauna, the band he was in suddenly disbands… and then, despite various circumstances, he never gives up on his dream and comes back to life, a story typical of “Weirdo’s Salad Bowl”.

In the 5th episode, we asked Daichiha, who plays Priketsu, who has a strong passion for the band, to talk about her thoughts on the work.

–Please tell us your impressions of the work “Weird Person’s Salad Bowl”.

Daichi: The first thing I thought was that there are many works where one person comes to another world, but I thought it was novel that multiple people came together. Moreover, each story progresses separately. It seems like they intersect, but they don’t intersect exquisitely. However, I felt that the exquisite sense of distance between the characters, which was not completely zero, was unique to me.

–It’s true that the story progresses separately for Sara (CV. Nayuki Yano) and Livia (CV. M.A.O.). And sometimes they intersect.

Daichi: When I read the original story, I wondered how it would turn into an anime. What’s more, rather than a big incident happening, it’s very surreal and interesting to see each person living their daily lives properly. I thought it was a wonderful piece of work.

–Do you have any memories of the audition?

Daichi: At the tape audition, I only accepted the role of Priketsu, but there was one thing that really left an impression on me.

In the audition proposal, I wrote down for each character what kind of character I wanted them to be, and the direction of the play. It was written something like “I wonder.”

–That’s a bit off-topic.

Daichi: It’s true that I read the original work, and I felt that it wouldn’t be wrong to call him boyish, not only in his tone but also in his character design. But I also had an image of Prickets in my head, so I thought to myself, “Let’s go ahead and record two versions!” and together with my manager, I decided to create a version of Prickets in his current form, with a theatrical feel and a boyish side. I prepared them and sent them both. I had never done anything like that before, so it was a very memorable event for me.

ーー収録に行って、どちらの方向性で行くかを確認したのですか？

大地：というよりは、今のプリケツの芝居感が、自分的に一番しっくりきていたので、テストでそれをやってみたら、「それでいきましょう」という感じだったので、そのまま進めさせていただきました。

ーープリケツ（＝弓指明日美）の、魅力に思うところを教えてください。

大地：プリケツにも夢とか目標があるんですけど、それが表にあまり出てこない、ナチュラル感があるところが、この子の魅力だと思っているんです。もちろん心の奥底では大きな夢を抱いていて、誰よりも正直に、一生懸命頑張っている子ではあるんですけど、「一生懸命頑張ってます、自分！」っていう押せ押せ感がないんですよね。だから夢に対する考えとかも押し付けがましくない。そこが魅力というか、この子の生き方なんだなと感じました。

だからお芝居をするときも、なんか自然に出てきちゃった感をすごく大事にしていました。この子は自然体でこうなんだなっていう、この子の中でのナチュラルラインを自分の中で決めて、そこをいつも狙って、お芝居させていただく感じでした。

ーーなるほど。でも、それが逆に重たく受け取られてしまって、バンド解散になったんでしょうね。あまりにもナチュラルにセクキャバで働いたりしちゃうから（第2話）。

大地：そうなんですよ！　やばいこともバンドのためにさらっとやっちゃうんですよ。でもそれがプリケツのいいところなんだろうなって感じます。なんか許せちゃうというか。
