Ninna-ji Temple was founded in 888 and is currently the head temple of the Omuro school of the Shingon sect. It has the “Niomon” (one of Kyoto’s three main gates) that faces the road, which is rare in Kyoto, and as soon as you step inside the vast precincts, you will see the “Kondo”, a national treasure, and the “Five-storied pagoda”, an important cultural property. Miei-do'', Kannon-do”, and Ryoko-tei'' and Hito-tei” in the Imperial Palace garden. It has a deep connection with the imperial family and aristocrats, and is characterized by a palace-style building known as the “Ninnaji Palace Garden.” It is also a highly prestigious temple that appears in “Tsurezuregusa” and “Hojoki.”
In this collaboration, as part of the “Omuro 88 Sacred Sites Tour [Akatsuki Collaboration Version],” you will be able to make a pilgrimage to the 88 locations of Mt. At the 1st, 6th, and 88th temples of the 88 locations, QR codes will be installed where you can listen to Akatsuki’s narration. While listening to the narration, enjoy the colors of the ancient capital of Kyoto and the history of Monzeki Temple, which is designated as a World Heritage Site.
