The official report from the “Transformers/ONE” Talk Event Returns, featuring Yuzuki Suzuka and Sound Director Iwanami Miwa, has arrived! The movie “Transformers: One” has been released since Friday, September 20, 2024.

This time, the official report has arrived on the second talk event for this film, “Talk Event Returns: Uniting the Universe in Tachikawa! The Ultimate Loud Screening.”

At the event, Suzuka Yuzuki, who plays Airachnid, and Sound Director Miwa Iwanami appeared on stage. They talked about how they made the most of the equipment and environment that Tachikawa Cinema City is proud of, and how they managed to showcase the Transformers’ exploits at the world’s highest level.

Just last week, a wild and carefree talk event featuring Yuzuki Ryoko and Iwanami Miwa was held at Ikebukuro Grand Cinema Sunshine and ended with great success…but now, without any delay, the two, who show off their perfect chemistry (?), are heading to Tachikawa Cinema City for another talk event.

Iwanami and Yuzuki appeared cheerfully in the theater where many Transformers and Beast Wars fans gathered. It seemed that many of the audience members had been to the recent event in Ikebukuro, and Iwanami said, “I can’t tell you the same story as I did in Ikebukuro,” laughing, “Good evening, I’m Kimura Subaru!”. Yuzuki responded, “I’m Yoshioka Riho!”, showing the same well-coordinated exchange as long-time comedy duo comedians, drawing laughter.

For fans, Yuzuki is best known for her role as Black Widow, the spider lady from “Beast Wars: Super Life Form Transformers,” and in “Transformers: One,” she plays Airachnid, a spider-like transformer who fights with lightning speed. Iwanami, who cast her, had his eye on Yuzuki since she was cast in Beast Wars, and recalled that she was “like a secret weapon” at the time, and Yuzuki commented, “It’s all thanks to Iwanami. I don’t know what I’d be doing now without Transformers.” However, for Yuzuki, the dubbing recording for Beast Wars, which was called a “lawless zone for voice actors” and boasted a cult following, was fun but also tough at times… “There were times when it was difficult (from Director Iwanami), like, ‘Don’t say the same thing as in the test!’ or ‘Yes, say something funny!’… (laughs). At that time, I was so depressed that I even removed Beast Wars from my official profile for a while (laughs). But now I love it,” she said frankly. In response to this unexpected statement, Iwanami said, “You said that?! And it was that hard?! I’m sorry about that…” She spoke of her feelings at the time, which she can now only speak about.

Yuzuki, who is a trusted regular voice actor in Iwanami’s works, also appeared in the most recent series, “Transformers: The Beast Awakens.” She plays Nightbird, an enemy character who fights against Optimus Prime and his friends. “Yuzuki-san has been in almost every Transformers work, and she’s played most of the spider ladies. But The Beast Awakens was different,” she said, to which he replied, “The role of Nightbird. It was a character other than spider, so I was really happy when I was offered the role! … But that character exploded at the end. I was a little disappointed that I won’t be able to appear in future series! (laughs)” he said, looking reluctant to leave.

Here, Iwanami further elaborated on Beast Awakening: “Beast Awakening was a work that surprisingly had few beast elements. But, for example, if there was Rattle, played by Yamaguchi Kappei in Beast Wars, I certainly thought that it would be unbalanced if a big rat appeared in that world view (laughs). In order to add ‘beast elements’ to the dubbed version, I asked Tobita Nobuo and Cho to appear.”

It seems that Yuzuki also had a special attachment to the role, saying, “I was happy that Cheetah, played by Takagi Wataru, properly ended his sentences with ‘Jyan’!” He added, “Usually dubbing foreign films is tough, but they let me have that one bit (Cheetah). Making a Japanese version is quite difficult,” revealing Iwanami’s attention to detail and witty sense of playfulness.
