Ahead of the broadcast, an advance screening was held at TOHO Cinemas Ikebukuro on Sunday, September 22. In addition to screening the first and second episodes, Mikako Komatsu, who plays Suou, Nasuo☆, who sings the opening theme, and ASOBI Domei, who sings the ending theme, appeared on stage for a talk show and mini-live performance.
Animate Times will report on the first of the two parts.
After the first and second episodes finished, Mikako Komatsu, who plays Suou, appeared on stage and greeted the audience in her own voice, saying, “Welcome to the cross-dressing bar, TOHO Cinemas.”
First, when asked about her favorite scene from the content that was screened, Komatsu chose “the scene in episode 1 where they have a karaoke singing competition.”
In the original work, Tokiwa set the bar high by saying that she was good at singing, but Suou showed off an even better, perfect singing voice. The bar was also raised for dubbing, and she was nervous about what would happen, but she told me an episode that made her laugh when she was told, “This part is not needed.”
He also mentioned that Takeuchi Shunsuke, who plays Tokiwa, always ad-libs really well, and that he always feels like he has to do something every time they record.
Next, the results of the “Survey on scenes that make you feel so excited your brain crashes,” which was run by Anime Official X, were announced. In the first part, the 6th, 4th, and 2nd place results were announced.
6th place: The scene where Hagi murmurs that Kohaku, dressed as a man and holding a hamster, is cute
; 4th place: The scene where Fuji finds Asagi, who is lost at the Comiket venue, and grabs her
by the chin, saying, “Hey!” 2nd place: The scene where, when asked if the two are friends, Suou replies, “Yes, not yet,” and puts a hat on Tokiwa
While hearing about their second place results, Komatsu commented on the relationship between the two, “Suou and Tokiwa make me feel it’s hard to know which one is the one conquering her. Suou is usually the one who provokes her, but Tokiwa is tough, and sometimes Tokiwa unconsciously ends up manipulating Suou.”
By the way, the 5th, 3rd, and 1st place results were announced in the second part, and all the results will be made public on Official X at a later date.
When asked about the highlights of the episodes that were screened next in advance, from episode 2 onwards, Komatsu commented that as the stories of each pairing unfold, her heart will be constantly racing.
He also mentioned that each character’s name is based on a color and that their eye colors correspond to those colors. He added that as of now, only Hagi’s eyes have not been seen, so he is looking forward to seeing them when he can.
At this point, Komatsu stepped down from the stage. Next up was Nasuo☆, the opening artist, and ASOBI Domei, the ending artist.
When asked about his impressions when he first read the original work, Nasuo☆ said that he was so touched that he thought that if he went there and Suou and the others were there, or if he went to a group date and there were only women there, it would be fine.
Rimi from the ASOBI Alliance has always loved manga, and she had read the original work and loved it even before she was asked to do the theme song.
Tokumikus from the ASOBI Alliance voiced her support for Kohaku-chan. She said that this scene was the one that made her heart flutter the most when she went back to being a girl.
Next, he was asked what aspects of the work he was conscious of when creating the music.
Nasuo☆ replied, “The opening theme is often the first thing that plays in an anime, so I made it so that the viewer could get a sense of how the anime will progress, the people that will appear, and so on, and feel that everything about the work is packed into those first few seconds.”
The ASOBI Alliance responded, “The first line of the chorus keeps saying it’s no, no, no, but every time you watch this anime it makes you writhe and think it’s no good, and it makes your heart flutter. The three main boys are conflicted about not being good, but we made sure to pack the anime with moments that will make your heart flutter.”
