Along with the announcement, a special interview video with Japanese voice actors Fuka Koshiba and Kenjiro Tsuda was released.
In the interview video, Ko Shibasaki, who played the role of Kate, and Tsuda, who played the role of Tyler, talk about the highlights of the work, their similarities with the characters they played, and weather-related topics related to the work!
As for the highlights of the film, Ko Shibasaki said, “Of course the tornadoes attack, but also the relationship between Kate and Tyler grows closer! I hope you will experience it many times.” Tsuda said, “There are many different types of tornadoes!”, building expectations for an even more powerful monster than “Twister,” which was made in 1996.
When asked about the similarities between her and the character she played, Koshiba said, “I was worried about whether the dubbing would go well this time either,” revealing her nervousness about the big production, but added, “Kate also doesn’t give up and faces the tornado. She doesn’t want to give up, so I think she’s a bit similar in that she struggles to the end.” Tsuda said firmly, “People often tell me I have a gap,” just like the character Tyler, who has a gap between his personality and mine. When he talked about his own personal life, saying, “I may look like I’m very strict, but I’m actually very laid back,” Koshiba seemed to agree with him, laughing.
In relation to the film, when the conversation turned to their favorite weather, both of them smiled and said, “Sunny!” and “Clear skies!” While saying “I’m sorry!” about the film, which depicts a stormy tornado, they also supported “Twisters,” saying, “I’m happy when it’s sunny. But I quite like soft rain.” (Koshiba) and “It’s not too bad, but I like heavy rain.” (Tsuda).
