12人と一人の少女たちと紡ぐ青春学園ドラマ、ついに映画化!!!
『ラブライブ！虹ヶ咲学園スクールアイドル同好会』は、「みんなで叶える物語」をキーワードにオールメディア展開するスクールアイドルプロジェクト、「ラブライブ！シリーズ」の第3作目。2020年にTVアニメ1期、2022年にTVアニメ2期が放送され、2023年6月には新作エピソードOVA「NEXT SKY」が公開された。
そして、「NEXT SKY」のその後を描く完全新作エピソードが、2024年9月6日、全国の劇場で公開となる！
TVアニメシリーズを送り出した、監督：河村智之（「三ツ星カラーズ」他）、脚本：田中 仁（「Go！プリンセスプリキュア」「推しの子」他）、アニメーション制作：サンライズのスタッフに、ビジュアルディレクターとしてけろりら（「ぼっち・ざ・ろっく！」他）を加え、いま、劇場上映シリーズ3部作の幕が上がる――。
留学生・アイラの帰国からほどなくして、同好会にスクールアイドルGPX(グランプリ)の招待状が届く。
学校ごとではなく、個人でエントリーし、配信アプリを通してパフォーマンスを競って「今もっとも推せるスクールアイドル」を決めるこのイベントに参加するため、歩夢、かすみ、しずく、彼方、エマ、ランジュの６人は会場の一つである、沖縄へ旅立った。
沖縄の穏やかな陽射しと豊かな自然に迎えられ、全国から集まったスクールアイドルたちが最高のパフォーマンスを披露する中、同好会に新しい出会いが訪れる。

■スマートフォン向けアプリやTVアニメ、ライブイベントなど、オールメディアで「ソロ活動」をコンセプトとして活動しているラブライブ！シリーズのスクールアイドル「虹ヶ咲学園スクールアイドル同好会」は、ラブライブ！シリーズのμ’s、Aqours に次いで2017年から活動をスタートしました。
東京・お台場にある私立高校・虹ヶ咲学園にあるこの同好会に所属するメンバーは、1人1人が自分の夢を追いかけながらNo.1スクールアイドルを目指し、時にライバルとして、時に仲間として日々活動を行っています。
2018年11月にCGアニメーションPV 付きデビューアルバム「TOKIMEKI Runners」をリリース。2019 年12月14日・15日には武蔵野の森総合スポーツプラザ・メインアリーナにて1st ライブ「虹ヶ咲学園スクールアイドル同好会 First Live “with You”」を開催。2020年9月12日・13日には東京ガーデンシアターに「虹ヶ咲学園スクールアイドル同好会 2nd Live! Brand New Story / Back to the TOKIMEKI」を開催。2020年10月からはTVアニメ『ラブライブ！虹ヶ咲学園スクールアイドル同好会』を放送、2021年5月8日・9日にはメットライフドームにて「虹ヶ咲学園スクールアイドル同好会 3rd Live! School Idol Festival ～夢の始まり～」を開催。2022年2月26日・27日には京セラドーム大阪にて初の関西でのドーム公演となる「虹ヶ咲学園スクールアイドル同好会 4th Live! ～Love the Life We Live～」を開催。
2022年4月からはTVアニメ2期を放送し、2022年9月には東京ガーデンシアターと武蔵野の森総合スポーツプラザ・メインアリーナで「虹ヶ咲学園スクールアイドル同好会 5th Live! 虹が咲く場所」を開催。2023年1月からはシリーズ初のショートアニメ『にじよん あにめーしょん』を放送、2023年6月に新作エピソードOVA『ラブライブ！虹ヶ咲学園スクールアイドル同好会 NEXT SKY』を公開。2023年12月・2024年1月には「ラブライブ！虹ヶ咲学園スクールアイドル同好会 6th Live! I love You ⇆ You love Me」を開催。
