During the narration shoot for the new commercial, in a pre-meeting with the director, he was not only excited, but also focused on each line, and occasionally smiled, and the shoot proceeded in a relaxed atmosphere from start to finish.
Q: The theme of the new commercial was “Technique is skillful.” What are your honest thoughts after filming the commercial?
It was a very solid piece of work, and a powerful commercial, packed with easy-to-understand “Kodawari” elements.
Q: In the new commercial you only provide a voice role, but what aspects did you pay particular attention to?
I tried various versions, such as using deep bass for the parts I was particular about, and delivering the techniques with a “Zoon” sound.
There were lines that were like special moves, and I was particular about pushing out the lines with a “Zuzuzu” sound.
Q: The product name is “Kodawari Technique,” but please tell us about your “work-related commitment” as a voice actor, Tsuda-san.
I suck on candy, gargle frequently, eat a lot, sleep well at night, and generally spend my time as normal as possible.
If I say too many lines and my throat starts to hurt, I take care of it early.
As for the role, I try to express as much as possible the acting that only I can do.
Q: The theme of this time is “The skill of skill is in the details,” but please tell us about your special skills and “particularities” in your private life!
It’s difficult to be better than anyone else, but if I had to say, I can sleep anytime. If
I have about a minute to spare, I can sleep anytime, anywhere. I feel like I can fall asleep right away even outside.
Q: What do you pay particular attention to when using your voice to unleash your special moves?
It depends on the character, but I try to be clear-spoken, raise my voice in this scene, or show momentum in that scene, and I value the contrast.
In battle scenes, it depends on the situation, but if the character is being cornered by the enemy, I’ll speak in a way that suits that person, and I feel like it’s different each time depending on the situation.
The new package design expresses the richness of “Waza no Kodawari.” The richness is expressed by the special sauce soaking into the cut surface, and the roughness is expressed by the image of the product being crushed.
In addition, we will strengthen the lineup of the “Wazu no Kodawari” brand. In conjunction with the package design renewal, we will release the even more delicious “Wazu no Kodawari Rich Spicy Chili Pepper,” which is soaked in a special chili sauce blended with gochujang and doubanjiang, giving it a spicy and deep flavor, and “Wazu no Kodawari Rich Cheese,” which is soaked in a special cheese sauce blended with three types of cheese powder, giving it a deep, rich flavor.
