The event featured a dramatic reading that was as exciting as a live concert, a new corner with a strong reward-like feel, and a game battle that involved the residents. As the title suggests, this event was full of “battles” from start to finish. This time, we will be bringing you a report on the evening session.
As soon as we arrived at the venue, the background music of a fighting game was blaring, creating a very strange scene at Hibi-so. The strange scene continued. Five people appeared on stage dressed in hip-hop style outfits, like rappers. Then, cheerful music rang out in the venue, and Hinata began rapping in his familiar tone, saying “♪Hey, YO!”
Next, Aikawa, Natsume, and Tachibana performed raps. Each of them included their own name and favorite things in their lyrics, and the residents applauded when they finished singing.
According to Miyazawa, the “rap battle” was a very popular request from the residents. When Hinata said enthusiastically, “Let’s cheer up Hibi-so!”, Miyazawa responded sharply, “What’s the difference between a pun and a rap?”
The rap battle continued afterwards, with Natsume performing raps filled with love for the people she loves, with her agency senior and idol, Tomatsu Haruka, Hinata also performing raps with her favorite seniors, TrySail, and Tachibana performing raps with VTuber Inui Toko. Every time they sang, the residents cheered with “Fu!”.
Miyazawa, who had been watching from a distance as everyone else performed their raps, said, “Well, I’ll leave it at that…” and tried to leave. The other four stopped him and showed Miyazawa how to rap.
Miyazawa-san performed her rap with all her might while being surrounded by the enthusiastic applause of the residents. At the end of the performance, while talking about her favorite works, she powerfully recited a line from a popular anime (novel) saying, “I’m interested in it!”, which earned her a warm round of applause from the residents. The five of them successfully acquired the new skill of “rapping” (?).
Finally, he performed an emotional rap that included memories of the “Get New Skills” corner, which came to an end in the previous episode.
The five members also said that they would like to continue to incorporate requests from residents in the future. With their desire to continue creating events together with everyone in the future, the scorching hot rap battle, which was in keeping with the subtitle of this event, came to a close.
As the stage was lit up, Aikawa greeted the audience with a high level of excitement, saying, “Welcome to the scorching hot battle royale!” After this, he introduced himself with even more excitement than usual, partly because he had just finished performing his rap.
Hinata-san was especially excited, and the other four said, “Moka, you were really into that reading performance earlier!” Miyazawa-san’s rap, “I’m sorry! I thought you should look over there!” was so cute that the opening talk was a big hit.
And once again, Aikawa loudly declared that this episode, as the subtitle suggests, he would like to feature more “battles”!
First, we start with a new corner, “3 o’clock snacks are delicious.” It’s a reward-like corner where each person introduces their recommended food to everyone.
This time, Aikawa was in charge of both sessions, and in the evening session, he introduced the Tokushima specialty “Oono Nori”. When Aikawa held up a container of nori, the residents responded with a familiar “Oh!” The reason he chose Ohno Nori is because “my mother’s family home is in Tokushima, and I often eat it at home.”
Tachibana-san had previously received it as a souvenir and excitedly said, “It was so delicious that I ate it all up!” When Aikawa-san asked the residents, “Who has eaten it before?”, the surprising result was that about 80% of them had eaten it!
While eating the delicious seaweed, we headed to the “Hibi-so Residents General Meeting” corner, where we introduced the survey results received from residents. It felt like we were really relaxing in the living room, and the atmosphere was warm and relaxed.
In response to the question about the perfect ice cream for the hot summer, “What’s your favorite Baskin-Robbins flavor?”, Aikawa answered “Strawberry,” Tachibana and Miyazawa answered “Popping Shower,” and Hinata and Natsume answered “Love Potion.”
Continuing with the summery questions, when asked “What do you remember from your independent study?”, Hinata gave an unusual answer. “I put water, milk, and cola in a plastic cup, froze it, and tried to see which would expand the most, but I didn’t really know.”
Aikawa tried hard to remember how she “went all the way to Awaji Island to catch sea fireflies,” Tachibana talked about her failure when observing the growth of sunflowers, and Natsume, true to her science background, spoke nostalgically of how she collected soil from various places around the school and looked at it under a microscope.
