It has been decided that Yorushika will be performing the ending song. The title is “Aporia”. The artist’s comment has also arrived.
- What were your thoughts when you read the original story and script?
I really like this manga. There is always a human passion hidden in Uoyu’s manga, which continues from Hyakuem. When it is combined with the theme, it becomes explosively interesting. Chi. is a work that embodies the passion for “knowing,” so while reading the script, I thought about the common points between it and what Yorushika wants to create now.
2. Thoughts behind the ending theme
“Aporia” is a philosophical word that means an unanswered question or confusion. I wrote this piece comparing the desire to know the unknowable to an aporia.
The balloon in the lyrics is a metaphor for the limitless desire for knowledge. The balloon leaves the ground and gradually rises higher. Looking down from inside the balloon, you see a different view than when you were on the ground, the sea, where a school of fish shines white. That’s the song.
My interpretation of “chi” is “knowledge.”
3. Any words for your fans?
I am honored to have been involved in the film adaptation of this wonderful original work. I look forward to working with you all.
