The end card for episode 4, which aired today, Saturday, August 3rd, is a collaboration illustration with the famous “Mazinger Z”!
The “rocket punch” is mentioned in the dialogue as Atoli’s special move in the anime. In episode 4, there was even a scene where he actually uses the move.
And now, a collaboration illustration with the original super robot “Mazinger Z”, the originator of the “Rocket Punch”, has been realized! A single image of Atoli and Mazinger Z unleashing a rocket punch together has been announced. The illustration was drawn by Dynamic Planning.

孤独な心を抱える少年とロボットの少女が出会う一夏の青春を、情緒溢れる演出・脚本で高く評価された『やがて君になる』の監督・加藤誠×脚本・花田十輝が再びタッグを組み映像化に挑む。アニメーション制作は美麗な映像表現に定評のあるTROYCAが担当。
青一色に染まる衰退した世界で、少年とロボットの少女の“心”の交流が感動の物語を紡ぎ出す。
原因不明の海面上昇によって、地表の多くが海に沈んだ近未来。幼い頃の事故によって片足を失った少年・斑鳩夏生は、都市での暮らしに見切りを付け、海辺の田舎町へと移り住んだ。身よりのない彼に遺されたのは、海洋地質学者だった祖母の船と潜水艇、そして借金。
夏生は“失った未来”を取り戻すため、祖母の遺産が眠るという海底の倉庫を目指して潜る。そこで見つけたのは、棺のような装置の中で眠る不思議な少女―アトリ。彼女は、人間と見紛うほどに精巧で感情豊かなロボットだった。
海底からサルベージされたアトリは言う。「マスターが残した最後の命令を果たしたいんです。それまで、わたしが夏生さんの足になります！」
