“2.5-Dimensional Temptation (LiLiSa)” is a manga by Hashimoto Yuu that has been distributed on the manga magazine app “Shonen Jump+” since 2019 and has sold over 2.9 million copies in total.

The story begins when Masamune Okumura, an ordinary high school boy who loves the 2D character Liliel, meets Amano Ririsa, a freshman who also loves Liliel and wants to become Liliel. At her request, Okumura cooperates with a cosplay shoot. As he works with Ririsa, he senses the passion of the cosplayers, the feelings each one has, and how they overcome various hardships to grow, creating a passionate youth cosplay story where reality (3D) and fiction (2D) intersect.

Episode 1 “The Different Dimensional Freshman” Synopsis

Masamune Okumura is a high school student who has no interest in three-dimensional girls. He is the only member of the Manga Research Club, and today, in the club room, he shouts the name of his beloved character, Liliel.

Then a new student, Amano Lilisa, comes to see him. At first, Okumura is wary of Lilisa, a 3D girl, and tries to keep her at a distance. However, as soon as he finds out that Lilisa is a fellow otaku who is passionately in love with Liliel, they hit it off and have a lively conversation about Liliel. In the midst of this, Lilisa reveals that her secret hobby is cosplay and the reason she came to the Manga Research Club…

The first episode of “2.5-Dimensional Temptation,” “The Freshman from Another Dimension,” will begin airing on TOKYO MX and other channels on Friday, July 5th.
