“You’re Going to Fall in Love Anyway” is a school youth story based on the manga by Haruka Mitsui, currently serialized in the monthly magazine Nakayoshi, depicting the love affair between the protagonist, Miho Nishino, and four childhood friends who grew up like a family.

July 1, 2020. With no chance to get closer to the senior she admires and her parents completely forgetting her birthday, high school sophomore Mizuho is having the worst possible 17th birthday. Furthermore, due to the outbreak of an unknown infectious disease, club competitions and school trips have been canceled, and Mizuho feels that she “has no sparkling youth.” But then, her childhood friend, Teruzuki, suddenly declares himself a potential boyfriend — and so the story unfolds.

The teaser visual released this time shows the protagonist Mizuho’s childhood friends, Teruzuki, Miku, Ai, and Shugo, lying on their backs in shallow water, gazing ahead as if they are gazing at “someone”. The blue color and splashes of water are impressive, and the design is reminiscent of the comic book cover of this work, making it an eye-catching image.

The teaser PV also includes a scene in which the five childhood friends, Mizuho, Kizuki, Miku, Ai, and Shugo, are heading to school together. They each speak to Mizuho, and at the end, Mizuho’s inner voice says, “I knew it. I can’t stay like this forever,” leaving a lingering impression. Though it’s short, it leaves you curious about future developments.

The cast for the five main characters was also announced, with Sakura Shinpuku playing Nishino Miho, Nozomi Urawa playing Hazawa Kizuki, Shion Yoshitaka playing Kashiwagi Miku, Shoya Chiba playing Izumi Ai, and Keiji Inomata playing Hoshikawa Shugo. The five cast members and director Junichi Yamamoto also provided comments.
