In this article, we will introduce points and highlights that you should keep in mind before the theatrical version is released. We hope you will find this useful in your preparation and review for this work.
“Detective Conan” is a popular comic series written by Gosho Aoyama. The annual animated movie version is also doing well, and “Detective Conan: The Black Submarine” released last year was a huge hit with domestic box office revenue of over 13.8 billion yen.
The 27th movie in the series, “1 Million Dollars Michishirube” (100 Mandoru no Michishirube), is also attracting a lot of attention, as it is expected to record the highest box office revenue of all time.
The setting of this work is Hakodate, Hokkaido. Goryokaku, where Toshizo Hijikata is said to have waged his final battle, also holds the key to the story.
A notice letter from Kid that arrived at the Axie Zaibatsu in Hakodate. The target this time is the Japanese sword “Seiryoto,” which is associated with Shinsengumi vice-commander Toshizo Hijikata.
Around that time, Conan, Heiji, and the others came to Hokkaido for the Kendo tournament being held in Hakodate. This work is full of action and mystery-solving, including a confrontation with Kid and a treasure hunt related to Japanese swords.
From here, I would like to introduce three points that I would like to draw your attention to.
This is the first time in five years that Phantom Thief Kid has appeared in a movie since “Detective Conan: Fist of Blue”, which was released in 2019. This time too, he will captivate the audience with his brilliant actions and dialogue. Also pay attention to Kid’s appearance that you have never seen before.
Kid often aims for big jewels, but this time his target is a Japanese sword. Moreover, the trailer also shows a scene where he fights with Heiji with a sword. Since he usually fights from a distance using things like Trump guns, his close quarters combat with a sword can be said to be valuable.
There is also a tense scene where Heiji is cornered and his monocle comes off. It looks like we’ll be able to see a lot of new faces.
The narration in the trailer, which says, “The truth about Kid is finally revealed,” is also an interesting point. If you watch this work, you’ll probably get a better understanding of Kid.
Also pay attention to the exchanges between the Kansai group gathered in Hakodate. In addition to the childhood friend duo of Heiji and Kazuha, there will also be appearances by Momiji Ooka and butler Muga Iori, who appeared in “Detective Conan Love Letter.” The love triangle between Heiji, Kazuha, and Momiji is also likely to be a highlight of this work.
The trailer shows Heiji and Kazuha facing each other in front of a night view. Heiji has missed many opportunities to confess, but he can’t help but hope that he will succeed this time.
The showdown between Heiji and Kid is also an irresistible scene for fans. Heiji had previously tried to kiss Kid, not realizing that she was Kazuha in disguise. For more details, please see the original comic volume 96 or the TV anime episodes 983 and 984, which involve the incident involving “Fairy Lips.”
Will Heiji be able to defeat Kid this time, and how will Kid cope? Let’s watch the long-awaited direct confrontation on the big screen.
One of the highlights is the appearance of Souji Okita, the 6th generation master of kendo. Although he has appeared several times in the TV anime, this is the first time he has appeared in the movie version. Utilizing his keen observational eye and outstanding physical ability, he will no doubt play an active role in this work.
Okita is a person who is mentioned many times in the story as having a similar face to Shinichi. In TV anime episodes 916 and 917, “Kendo Tournament of Love and Mystery,” Ran was surprised, saying, “He looks just like Shinichi.”
In the turmoil that occurred after “Crimson School Trip”, Shinichi was saved due to his resemblance to Okita.
By the way, Okita is also Momiji’s classmate. He often meets Heiji at kendo tournaments. He was also able to injure Heiji with his special skill, “Five-Dan Tsuki”, so it can be said that they are also related to each other. Expectations are high as to whether the long-delayed confrontation with Heiji will finally materialize.
In addition, voice actor Kenjiro Tsuda will be in charge of the role of Toshizo Hijikata, vice leader of the Shinsengumi, Hiroshi Oizumi, an actor from Hokkaido, will appear as a guest voice actor, and the theme song “Soushi Soai” will be sung by Aiko, the first collaboration in the series. There is no end to the list of noteworthy points.
In the first place, this work is an unusual work in that the advance screening, which is familiar to the theatrical version of Detective Conan, was canceled because Kid stole the invitation and the film. Even now, just before the release date, the truth remains shrouded in mystery. Please go to the theater and see the whole story with your own eyes.
