NHKにて3月に最終回を迎えた第5シリーズの続編となる第6シリーズは、未だ放送・制作の情報が発表されていません。しかし、原作はかなり人気ですし、実写映画も国内で大ヒットしているためTVアニメは今後も制作され、物語の完結まで放送されるでしょう。
まずは、7月より公開される『キングダム 大将軍の帰還』に向けての企画・キャンペーンに注目し、続報を待ちましょう。
第5シリーズでは、秦と趙の戦いである「黒羊丘（こくようきゅう）の戦い」（コミックス45巻まで）が描かれました。黒羊丘での戦いは5シリーズで終了したので6シリーズでは、コミックス46巻〜60巻で描かれた長編「鄴（ぎょう）攻略編」が描かれる可能性が高いと思われます。
鄴攻略編は単行本15冊分と、長いエピソードになるため、これまでのような分割クールでのアニメ化が濃厚です。また、本エピソードは長さだけでなく、濃密な戦いや人間模様などが描かれるため最低でも3、4クールでの放送が予想されます。
アニメ『キングダム』シリーズはこれまでNHK総合にて放送されてきたので、変わらずNHKで放送されるでしょう。アニメーション制作も引き続き、ぴえろ、スタジオサインポストが務めると思われます。
